What Happened to Free for Prime?

I'm pretty frustrated that Amazon gave us Prime users the shaft on this one. When the news broke last year it was presented like Amazon Prime members would be getting access to the latest season, and that is not the case. Additionally, it sounded like Amazon was getting some exclusive deal but the most recent season is on iTunes as well. I'll be giving Apple my money this time around once again as their season price still beats Amazon. Amazon really needs to do better with their communication and pricing. At least give a price break to Amazon Prime members that would compete with iTunes.

Enjoyable series. Not a spoiler review.
We watched the first two seasons on Prime for free. We both enjoyed the episodes. Husband and myself, we became caught up in the series, and ended up purchasing the 5 episodes of Season 3. Now waiting impatiently for weekly episodes....

Movies/tv series, and whether one person likes it or not, and the next person doesn't. Highly SUBJECTIVE to an individual when it comes to likes and dislikes. Please don't slam my review because I liked it, and you don't.

SciFi Alien Invasion apocalyptic type series; invading aliens wreaking havoc on humans and decimating cities, taking the older children hostages making them slaves. Another different alien race arrives, which added to the plot nicely. We felt the series is well done with good special effects and graphics, and pretty good entertainment. It is thought provoking in several scenarios and stimulated a good bit of conversation for us. I would recommend people to watch this series if this is your type of SciFi...

Fantastic series, really much better than I expected when first started watching. But now I'm addicted (or maybe harnessed!). But why are season 3 episodes not free for Prime members as they become available??

An expertly done human drama with terrific ambiance and artistry set in an all girls public school in England in 1969. Introspective and intense Lydia (Maisie Williams- best known for her role in Game of Thrones) is best friends with popular and outgoing Abbie (Florence Pugh) and they inscribe each other name on an oak tree vowing eternal sisterhood.
After Abbie falls pregnant as a result of a liaison with Lydia's horrible sex obsessed brother Kenneth (Joe Cole) who dabbles in the occult, Lydia fears for her relationship with Abbie. Add to the mix some nasty narrow minded teachers determined to force their Victorian morality on the girls (this at the time of the sexual revolution- and opening of the 60s) - Great Saachi plays the austere Miss Mantell, and Lydia's reclusive mother (Maxine Peak) this is a coming of age movie, a psychological thriller , a supernatural thriller all in one.

Entertaining film that could have been better
Set in the 1960s at an all girl school we meet Lydia (Masie Williams) who has a best friend in Abbie. They have it all as friends and a love of nature centring around an old oak tree. They have a mixed bag of teachers who seem to adhere to Victorian values and modesty principles - that is despite the burgeoning `summer of love'.

Then tragedy happens and Masie starts to have fainting fits - very soon the phenomenon spreads and she seems to be at the centre of it. Throw in a mum with issues (Maxine Peake) and a bit of the Occult, forbidden sex and deep rooted paranoia and you have the makings of a rather good story.

Maxine Peake is billed starring here, but she is not really on screen for a great period of time; Greta Scacchi as the dowdy Miss Mantel is though pure excellence in a performance dripping with understatement. I have seen comparisons to `Picnic at Hanging Rock' and even the events around Salem and the subsequent Witch trials. However, I think such...

This was a wonderfully atmospheric and haunting film with a breakout performance by Florence Pugh. If you enjoy beautifully shot and evocative film making with a twist of magic realism, The Falling will more than keep you riveted to the screen. Obviously, this a polarizing movie but it's worth taking a chance on. Take the leap.

Review :
Another great Sci-Fi show... Lets just hope they don't cancel it!

Falling Skies is good Sci-Fi series that depicts an end of the world alien invasion scenario. Who cares if the acting or the special effects are not the "best to date" (which it is really not that bad). Its the content and story that matter the most in my opinion and this show has it. Besides, its also very pleasing to see some new actors on T.V. rather than the same old Hollywood mainstream.

Worthwhile

This is one of the toughest genres for a TV series to undertake. As a movie, this type of post-apocalyptic show would be easy to execute, fitting a story line nicely into 90 - 120 minutes. As a TV series, you have to keep the motion of the story line moving along for hours on end. In addition to keeping the story line moving along, you have to maintain a certain degree of realism for the situation.

I believe that Falling Skies achieves these qualities satisfactorily. While my mind occasionally does ponder the obvious contradictions (90% of the people, including the military, have been wiped out, but these rag tag fighters aren't destroyed in the same fashion), I still find the story line intriguing enough to overlook these technicalities.

Overall, this series holds its own against any other shows in this genre, and continues to gain traction with new viewers.

A Serious SG1 but Not a BattleStar Galactica

Fun to watch and does not insult the watchers intelligence. This show is all about family, community & trust. With well developed characters and plot makes it enjoyable to watch

"Falling Skies: season 4"(2014) is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi show which sees the earth attacked by aliens. A major focus all the way through this series is the bonds of family despite the disagreements and conflicts, with the community being a larger manifestation of the idea of family. It is the tug-a-war between the feelings of the characters and their relationships with other family members or friends that keeps this series interesting, with the aliens sometimes merely being a backdrop for all of these interactions. As many of the characters become infected with alien genes, or are hybrid human/alien offspring (Lexi), what, or who is alien, becomes murkier and murkier. The fourth season is probably the best so far with the introduction of Scarlett Byrne as an alien/human hybrid who epitomizes the inner conflicts between self and the two species. One of my few favorite shows!

Excellent season! It's a shame this 2015 is the last year of production. Good acting & plot.. a little overboard w/ family this & that which is ok by me.
I prefer to watch the whole season continuously so, i'll wait until season 5's release.. which could be a little qicker.. hint..hint..

Darker days ahead the 2nd Mass
This season was the darkest in the history of the show. Last season ended with a lot of unknowns especially regarding Tom and Anne's daughter Lexi, but also with hope. That finally the humans have a fighting chance against the enemy. Without giving away spoilers the 1st part of the first episode features an all out attack on the 2nd Mass, that leaves them broken and scattered apart and some in very bad positions.

The first half of the season is all about reuniting, and dealing with the issues and traumas of what occurred during their separation. The most changed by the events in ep 1 are Anne and Matt. We see a side of the good doctor that I didn't know existed. She goes from being the kind healer and supportive matriarch standing behind Tom, to a desperate mother trying to find her child, and leading a small group of survivors with authority of a war general.
