This kind of thing gives surpass the prospect, that one has developed into a wonderfull upgrade on personally, The idea came safely as well as quickly Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt

The chief is back on the job. When a shocking double homicide rocks the quiet town of Paradise, Stone is forced back into action. His police department nearly emptied of staff, he has to rely on his expert intuition to sort through a maze of misleading clues as he attempts to unravel the mysterious murders. Kathy Baker, Gloria Reuben, Robert Carradine, Saul Rubinek and William Devane co-star in this thrilling installment, based upon characters created in Robert B. Parker's Jesse Stone books.Tom Selleck's trademark rumpled charisma continues to pay huge dividends in this eighth adaptation of Robert Parker's mystery series, focusing on the beleaguered small-town police chief Jesse Stone. Picking up where the previous installment Innocents Lost left off, the story begins with the forcibly retired Stone spinning his wheels in the Massachusetts town of Paradise, pursuing a tentative relationship with an aspiring singer (Gloria Reuben) while trying to resist his old self-destructive tendencies. When his replacement on the force meets an explosive end, however, Stone finds himself back in the game. Selleck, who wrote the script with Michael Brandman, wears this role like a just-right shoe, portraying his character's stubbornness and reluctant heroism in a fashion that does full justice to the late Parker's literary blueprint. His charm, combined with the presence of old pros such as Saul Rubinek, Kathy Baker, and Stephen McHattie, make for an enjoyable reminder of the pleasures of a long-running detective series, where the resolution of the mystery isn't half as important as the interactions between the people tasked to solve it. On the debit side, the familiarity between the characters can sometimes feel a little too comfortable, with a meandering middle act that occasionally succumbs to a case of the cutes. (Even the biggest dog lovers in the world may find their patience tried by the number of reaction shots given to Jesse's trusty pooch.) Fortunately, the whodunit aspect finishes strong, with series director Robert Harmon (who also helmed the splattery '80s horror classic The Hitcher) wringing a surprising amount of tension out of the cat-and-mouse climax set on an abandoned ship. By the time Benefit of the Doubt comes to a close, it's difficult not to wish for further obstacles to be placed in Stone's path, as soon as possible. There's nothing wrong with a formula, provided it's a good one. --Andrew Wright

A prequel to "Stone Cold" in the series of Jesse Stone novels by Robert B. Parker, the story picks up after Jesse Stone is fired from the Los Angeles Police Department. He becomes an unlikely candidate recruited by the town board of selectman to become police chief of Paradise, a small town on Boston's North Shore. The board hopes his failed experience will keep him from digging too deep into the town's secrets. Hungover on his first day on the job, he must investigate a domestic abuse case that ends up leaduing to a money laundering scheme perpetuated by a manager of a local bank. How Tom Selleck's world-weary cop Jesse Stone became the police chief of sleepy Paradise, Mass., is revealed in this engaging prequel to the first made-for-TV Stone feature, Stone Cold (2005). Selleck is once again well cast as the rough-around-the-edges Stone, whose drinking problem gets him ejected from the Los Angeles police force; he soon finds himself the head lawman in a small New England fishing village, where his slow dissolution continues until a routine domestic disturbance case reveals connections to money laundering and murder, with several of the town's most affluent names as possible suspects. Selleck is well-matched by veteran scene stealer Saul Rubinek, and there's good work by Polly Shannon as a city attorney who becomes Stone's romantic interest, and Stephen Baldwin as an ill-tempered local. Fans of author Robert B. Parker (on whose books the Jesse Stone films are based) and Selleck won't be disappointed by this smart thriller. --Paul Gaita

Review :
Great production values
I'll skip commentary on the plot or Tom Selleck. Most people have covered these very well. My perspective is production quality. Generally, television movies are merely okay when judged by music and camera work. After all, the little screen is cheaper than the big screen. The stunning production of the Jesse Stone series sets it above anything seen ever.

I would love to know the location setting. I was born and raised in MA and can't imagine a village like Paradise within commuting distance of Boston. The entire North and South Shore above and below Boston are teeming with residents so tightly packed that merely setting off to pick up milk takes resilience and cunning.I'm thinking that it's really Canada or the state of Maine.

It's the harsh and compelling scenery of the shoreline wrapping around the tiny town of Paradise that sets the appropriate mood for the brooding and iconoclastic new police chief, LA fugitive Jesse Stone. Gorgeous, sunny fall days full of...
Stone Prequel
Excellent lead in to "Stone Cold". Tom Selleck does a great job as Stone in this prequel to the first movie. The back story of him being fired because he drank on the job shows he has a murky past. Him driving to Paradise, and us getting a chance to see character development, is good. He finds some suspicious events tied to the previous sheriff of Paradise, and a good lead as to why the sheriff is retiring early. When he handles a case of a battered wife, he finds the husband is hiding something. If that isn't enough, Jesse's dog Boomer has failing health. It is handled with a sensitive touch. Especially if you have been through it. If you enjoy this be sure to catch the other two movies "Stone Cold" and "Death in Paradise" based on Robert Parker books. You may like "An Innocent Man" as well. It is a drama with Selleck being falsely accused of a crime and then being sent to prison. Tom Selleck is a great actor. Often underappreciated as far as I'm concerned. I have enjoyed ninety...
Selleck is Jesse Stone
Tom Selleck is absolutely perfect as Jesse Stone, a character created by the great crime author Robert Parker. Selleck plays a burned out, alcoholic cop who takes a job in the small town of Paradise, Massachusetts as sheriff. "Night Passage" is the tale of the quest by the emotionally damaged Stone for the killer of a young girl. William Devane costars as Jesse's shrink and he is excellent. Terrific secondary characters. In my opinion, Parker's Jesse Stone series of novels eclipses his famous Spenser books. This story line is the prequal to CBS's fabulously successful "Stone Cold", Selleck's first outing as Jesse Stone. Grab "Night Passage" . . . the Jesse Stone made-for-TV movies are quality productions with superb acting and beautiful cinematography. Stunning music. Exceptional TV. Highly, highly recommended. You don't ofter see TV this well done these days. You must also pick up Stone Cold one of the best ever...

This type of item Offer surpasses the prospect, this place has chaned into a fantastic replace on me personally, The idea appeared safely as well as speedily Jesse Stone: Death In Paradise

Based on the novel by Robert B. Parker, small town sheriff Jesse Stone tackles the mysterious murder of a teenage girl and the case of a battered wife while struggling with his alcoholism, his ex-wife and his disastrous love life. The teenage girl's murder leads him to a sex trafficking ring and into the higher society of Boston. The always dependable Tom Selleck returns as Robert B. Parker's small town police chief Jesse Stone in Death in Paradise, the made-for-TV sequel to Stone Cold, his 2005 debut as the character. Stone is a grittier, more human (and vulnerable) role than the one that made Selleck famous (playboy detective Thomas Magnum of Magnum, P.I.), but his tenacity and character flaws (a drinking problem and latent feelings for his ex-wife) seem a comfortable fit for the older Selleck. And the mystery itself--which surrounds the death of a young student whose connections to big-city crime--is crisp and convoluted (if not particularly novel), which provides Selleck with enough action and drama to please his longtime fans. William Devane and Gary Basaraba (Boomtown) are among the guest stars, while Viola Davis, Vito Rezza, and Kohl Sudduth return from Stone Cold as Selleck's police officers. Selleck also contributed to the script and co-produced along with director Robert Harmon, who helmed the other Stone films. --Paul Gaita

Review :
Third Jesse Stone movie makes it three for three
Both sensitively acted and directed, "Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise" is another winner in the "Jesse Stone" series of television films. Star Tom Selleck and director Robert Harmon must really be committed to this series, as every aspect of these productions are top notch.

Of course, one can air a minor complaint here and there. For example, like the previous entry, "Jesse Stone: Night Passage", this one ends a little too neatly and abruptly (just like in "Passage", everything is explained and resolved during a closing shoot-out), but that's only a small negative in an overall very good adaptation. I'm certainly onboard for "Jesse Stone: Sea Change", the fourth movie in the series (I always wait for the DVD releases of these films because I hate all the television commercials).

By the way, as these reviews are supposed to be "helpful", here's the order that I recommend that these stories should be watched:

1) Jesse Stone: Night Passage... This was...
Another Great Movie
Tom Selleck was born to play Jesse Stone. So much so that I can't imagine the character without Selleck. I immediately loved "Stone Cold" when I saw it premiere on TV and I have enjoyed watching Jesse solve crimes ever since.

Death In Paradise is a great little movie with an engaging storyline, believable dialogue (like always), solid production work, and a fantastic cast. I love the theme music for the series and the way that with just a couple simple piano themes so much mood can be conveyed. I've seen all 4 of the Jesse Stone movies and I love them all. I eagerly look forward to more!

I should note that I usually don't watch made for TV movies but I saw "Stone Cold" and I was hooked. It is refreshing when CGI and all manner of film trickery isn't employed and the filmmakers must rely on good old fashioned storytelling. The acting and the writing in this series is tremendous and needs no trickery to succeed.

Perfect actor plus great character equals TV magic
Tom Selleck IS Jesse Stone, a character created by the great mystery author Robert Parker. Selleck plays a burned out, alcoholic LA cop who takes a job in the small town of Paradise, Massachusetts as sheriff. "Death in Paradise" is a tale of domestic violence, mob intrigue and the poignant, obsessive quest by the emotionally damaged Stone for the killer of a young girl. This story line actually occurred in the Parker series prior to the novel that was the basis for CBS's fabulously successful "Stone Cold", Selleck's first outing as Jesse Stone. The screenwriters tweaked the plot of "Death in Paradise" a bit to make it a sequel to "Stone Cold" with excellent results. "Death in Paradise" features a powerhouse cameo by Steven Baldwin. In my opinion, Parker's Jesse Stone series is head and shoulders above the famous Spencer books. The Stone made-for-TV movies are quality productions with superb acting, beautiful cinematography and haunting music. Exceptional TV. Highly, highly...

The Evolution Of Jesse Stone: A Pitch Perfect Tom Selleck Headlines 8 Made-For-TV Endeavors
Note: A brief mention about pricing. While it's great to get all eight of the Jesse Stone films together in one convenient shipment, many have been around at bargain pricing for years. 2011: Innocents lost

Tom Selleck is Jesse Stone! I don't know who author Robert B. Parker might have envisioned inhabiting his iconic small town police chief, but Selleck has certainly owned and perfected the role over the course of these 8 made-for-TV movies. Stone must surely be one of the most laid back heroes to ever grace the small screen and Selleck has perfected the minimalism necessary to make this character stand out. In the film world of quick cut editing, these...

This type of obcject Offer surpasses own prospect, this has chaned into a amazing buy for me personally, The thought arrived safely and also quickly Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost

Tom Selleck returns as Paradise's anguished former Chief of Police, Jesse Stone, in his most gripping mystery yet. Cindy Van Aldan was like a daughter to Jesse. Now she's dead. Although all signs point to a suicidal drug overdose-a checkered history riddled with addiction, associations with homicidal mobsters and an involvement in prostitution-Jesse knows his friend better than that. This time it's personal, and Jesse will stop at nothing to avenge the lost innocence and subsequent death of the young girl he once mentored. Though perhaps not as beloved as his Spenser novels, the series of books Robert B. Parker wrote about Jesse Stone, the depressed, alcoholic police chief of a small Massachusetts seaside town, earned him a similarly devoted following. CBS began adapting the novels as a vehicle for Tom Selleck in 2005, closely following Parker's formula and style, to the delight of many fans. Innocents Lost is the seventh in the intermittent TV-movie series (an eighth, Benefit of the Doubt, will appear in 2012) and the third that features an original Jesse Stone story (cowritten by Selleck) that is not directly based on a Parker novel. For those just being introduced to Jesse Stone, starting out well into the series with Innocents Lost may be slightly bewildering considering the many multiple plot threads that have carried through from the beginning. But the characters have a lot of depth from the get-go, especially Selleck's Stone, who we quickly discover has been forced out of his job as Paradise police chief and is not faring so well in the mental health department. Though the scenery of the fictional village is nothing but picturesque (Halifax, Nova Scotia, stands in for the rocky Atlantic fishing village of Paradise), the atmosphere is fairly gloomy throughout. Jesse is doing his best to continue his ascent from a depression and drinking problem that began years earlier after his divorce. But even though he's often quick with a quip and carries the charismatic appeal of Tom Selleck-ness wherever he goes, watching Innocents Lost is not the way to spend an evening if you're looking to cheer yourself up. Jesse is still friendly with his former cop colleagues (the excellent Kathy Baker and Kohl Sudduth), but not so much with the new chief, who's been installed primarily based on nepotism (his father-in-law is the president of the town council). He's also still doing some contract work for the Massachusetts State Police homicide squad and his pal Commander Healy (Stephen McHattie), is again palling around with the shady underworld boss Gino Fish (William Sadler), and is back talking to the grizzled psychotherapist Dr. Dix (William Devane). All these excellent supporting character actors add to the superb creative qualities of a story weaving two mysteries that Jesse becomes involved with: the suspicious death of a young girl he helped out a few years earlier, and the questionable guilt of a Boston murder suspect that Healy believes is being prosecuted in error. Jesse handily solves both cases, but the successes do not make him any happier. Neither does a casual affair with the gorgeous secretary of his pal and former nemesis Hasty Hathaway (Gloria Reuben and Saul Rubinek, both also first-rate). Even his loveable golden retriever Reggie can't snap him out of his depressive fog. There's not a lot of action, but there is a high level of dramatic integrity in the dialogue and character interaction that will make fans eager for more unpredictable exploits from Jesse Stone, both personally and professionally. --Ted Fry

Review :
Tom Selleck Is Jesse Stone--The Seventh Outing In Television's Most Introspective Crime Drama Series
Following 2010's "No Remorse," Tom Selleck returns (and shares a writing credit) for the latest installment of the Jesse Stone saga in "Innocents Lost." In this, the seventh outing, Selleck is more world weary and introspective than usual. I don't know that there has ever been a serialized crime drama that is so reliant on quiet moments and character contemplation. And, in truth, it is this moody thoughtfulness that has really made this series of movies strikingly unique in the modern television landscape. Lacking hysterics and over-the-top action set pieces, the Jesse Stone series is a quietly compelling throw-back to when stories and people mattered more than special effects. And, as always, the icing on the cake is the pitch perfect Tom Selleck who paints Jesse as both lovable and excruciatingly frustrating. I, personally, think that Stone is Selleck's best role--it is no wonder that he has revived him seven times.

"Innocents Lost" really breaks no new ground, just...
Fans deserve a medal.
Fans of this serious deserve a medal for being the most patient fans on the planet. Most fans have had to resort to DVD supplements (or the Hallmark Channel) to even catch all the installments. Luckily places like Office Depot and big chain Grocery Stores carry most of the DVD's cheap. CBS hasn't been very helpful, the first two episodes were aired in reverse order and the latest two episodes (parts 6 and 7) put on a shelf for over a year while negotiating with Tom Selleck to do the TV series BLUE BLOODS. Part 6 ultimately aired with little fanfare in a terrible time slot and Part 7 finally found a decent home (and will be released on DVD August 2nd, probably). Even if you were able to catch all of them on TV the time period between films was pretty lengthy to remember some of the plot points in the continuing story line. The 6th film, SEA CHANGE, for example, the one that sat on the shelf and then given a bad time slot, brought back guest characters from all the previous...
This series gets better with age!
Tom Selleck IS Jesse Stone! 'Innocents Lost' brought the characters together and, I believe, more relaxed in their roles, like old shoes that finally fit after a few stretches of the leather. Please, don't throw them away, because we want more Jesse Stone and Co.! Joe the Dog steals the show! Even he is beginning to show his age with a little graying around his muzzle.

The story is strong, subtle and makes you want more. Stone, now retired, is still seeking justice for a crime that will, probably, never be solved. The new Chief doesn't get much air-time, which is a good thing! Rose's character is getting stronger, but still vulnerable. She walks the line and delivers for Stone. Suits is more settled and endearing. Thankfully, for me, there is only one short phone call between 'the ex' and Jesse. The ending is oustanding!

For anyone who has read much of the late Mr. Robert Parker, the speech patterns were his signature, used for all major characters in...
