Wait Until You See the Car
I won't be cliche and tell you that your mission, should you choose to accept it... You know the rest.

Without a doubt, this is the best of all the Mission Impossible movies, including the original. Over the years, the MI franchise had become something of a cartoon of itself. So, it seemed appropriate that Brad Bird should be chosen to helm MI4 Ghost Protocol. As the Oscar winning director of the Incredibles, he made animated cartoons seem very real. Now, he's made Mission Impossible real again. He's injected a fresh breathe of confidence, humor and camaraderie into a series that sorely needed it. He's not only re-invigorated the franchise, he's re-invigorated Tom Cruise's career as an action star. With this movie, Tom is back on top.

You'll notice that there is a lot of the Incredibles in MI4 Ghost Protocol. That's not only because of Brad Bird's influence, but because the Incredibles was a humorous homage to action films. You could say it's the IMF meets the...
Updated for Blu-ray-Well made thriller from director Brad Bird ("The Incredibles") bodes well for his future as a director
UPDATED FOR BLU-RAY:

A couple of things about the Blu-ray edition 1) Paramount has done a stunning transfer with nice depth, clarity and detail. Skin tones look quite nice as do textures. The audio is VERY active with a great losslss 7.1 mix.

Be aware however that the sequences shot in IMAX format are NOT presented in the wider aspect ratio for the film (unlike, say, "The Dark Knight"). Also this includes a code for a Ultraviolet "copy" which means you'll have to stream the film rather than upload it to your portable device. There's also a code for itunes as well if you go that route.

The special features are good for the two disc editions but I am a bit disappointed that we don't get a feature length commentary track from Brad Bird and tom Cruise but we do get Bird's commentary for the deleted scenes and alternate opening sequence for the film. We also get featurettes on the dust storm sequence (a truly amazing sequence in a film filled with them) as...
5 star movie but 3 star blu ray disc
I think there are several reviews already with the same complaints but I just thought I would add my voice to the chorus.

No spoilers.

The Movie- 5 Stars
This movie has a ton of "hands-down" moments. Among them:
- Probably one of the best pure action movies I have ever seen. Yes, the plot is silly, but this is not a movie you walk into expecting it to change your perspective on life. It's just a fun and exciting movie which puts a very nice spin on the tired franchise with the Murphy's Law conundrums. Part of the fun is watching how Tom Cruise and team find their way around everything that the plot throws at them. One of my favorite sequences in MI3 was the Italy scenes where a daring heist is carried off flawlessly. In this movie, you have tons of heist scenes where absolutely nothing goes right and the movie still manages to find that tricky signature balance between action/plausibility/humor that carries the viewer from scene to scene with bated...

mission impossible 4 movie pack blu-ray set

Review :
Well-made series
For years I had a grudge against Tom Cruise, though I can't remember why. But I decided to give him another try and bought this album of the MI movies. I remember the first MI movie, and I liked it. But I was really impressed with the whole four-movie series. As far as action movies though, these are quite exceptional. Whether you buy them separately or altogether, I highly recommend these.

Mission: Impossible Collection [Blu-ray]
Even though I had already watched at least three of the four Mission Impossible movies, I couldn't resist purchasing the Mission Impossible "Collection" composed of one thru four. It was a great way to bring me up to date before going to the theater and watching Mission Impossible number five! As an added note, this was quite a deal because the collection of four movies was at a reduced bargain price and was Blu-ray!

All thumbs up👍👍
Great collection in great price! Highly recommended!

God-honoring and accurate Christian science
It isn't a big Hollywood production, which is more than offset by the refreshing lack of compromise. It is an extremely rare example of what Christian science fiction made by Christians can look like. The gospel is clearly presented, and is accurate. The science is presented from a creation viewpoint, and was a genuine pleasure to watch. There is a male/female relationship that is modeled with the utmost respect and biblical propriety. This is a series that any Christian parent can be proud to show their children. Overall, the stories, props, and ideas are fairly good for the kind of budget and resources available. I encourage you to watch all of the episodes.

Religion is not science
Emotionless, wooden acting. A pointless plot. Why are these children flying around in space drilling holes and shooting at debris? With interspersed sound bites from the bible, this show is obviously intended to indoctrinate children to the catholic faith under the cover of high level scientific facts.

Excellent
The special effects are very good. The information is also excellent science. The story has excitement. Good for kids as well as their parents.

Action Suspense Action more Action more Suspense
This is a no-brainer go-to film, and one to own. For anyone liking abundant (does it ever stop) action. Action is led by one of the truly great action heroes over several decades, Tom Cruise, the Top Gun of Harrowing Action. Someone who'd been in the theater stated Cruise actually did the wing stunt personally. Wow, authentic action. It's not all CG.

And there is beauty. Of course the gals will swoon over Tom Cruise. He still looks as good as he did in Top Gun of 1986. After several Missions Impossible, and "A Few Good Men", he remains as photogenic as ever, and in top physical form. He has his rival, one the guys will thing stunningly hot, in Ilsa (played by Rebecca Ferguson of `The White Queen'), who has her own action moments. A very fine duo, and keep in mind Ferguson was only 3 years old when Top Gun hit the screen. A fit and sassy duo indeed, worthy of a second movie together.

But, face it, it is the barrage of action that makes this film 5 star and will...
Soars to new heights thanks to Tom Cruise
"One day you're going to take it too far", tech geek and IMG agent Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) warns unstoppable operative Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) in Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation. He may as well be sending a stiff warning to the long-lived franchise as a whole, which has grown well beyond its roots as simply a remake of the hit TV series. While the first film had the team deep in a fairly complex operation involving a number of moving parts, subsequent chapters have centered around Hunt pulling off increasingly insane stunts. And with Cruise pushing his 53-year-old body to the limit for every death-defying spectacle, Mission: Impossible has grown into a true thrill-a-minute event, and fans certainly won't leave this one disappointed.

Basically, Mission: Impossible is a bunch of insane stunts with an extremely loose plot holding them together, and 'Rogue Nation' may be the weakest narrative of the bunch. However, the action is out of this world, and they don't waste...
Like a mouth full of Pop Rocks! This is intense!
Making the impossible not only possible, but believable. And like a mouth full of Pop Rocks - this film is intense! This is easily the best since the first Mission Impossible. Cruise is in top form, and an inspiration to anyone from a fitness perspective - can you believe he is 53 years old? I need to stop writing reviews and hit the gym more! This film is nonstop action, you won't want to miss a minute. Make sure to get there on time, because it jumps into intense action immediately, well before the opening credits. This opening scene with Tom Cruise hanging onto the side of a military style plane sets the tone for the entire movie.

Simplified premise is that the IMF has been disbanded after being implicated in the destruction of the Kremlin, they are absorbed by the CIA, Hunt is acting as a rogue agent, the Syndicate is out there, and not only do they need to be stopped, but the IMF has some pride in its mission and wants to clear any doubt about its efficacy...

This unique obcject delivers overtake the anticipation, that one has become a amazing replace on me personally, The thought appeared properly and quickly Mission: Impossible - The Third TV Season

The head of the "Impossible Missions Force", a top-secret government group of operatives, starts a tape recorder and finds out about his latest assignment. Throughout most of the series, they would have to stop some petty dictator or powerful bad guy from whatever evil plot they had against the U.S. or Democracy in general. The elaborate use of electronic gadgetry, masters of disguise and detailed plans that require split-second timing made this tv show an "on the edge of your seater"!Season 3, should you decide to accept it (and you definitely should), was Mission's most accomplished. It garnered six Emmy nominations, and an Emmy for Barbara Bain, her third consecutive win, probably for "The Exchange," one of her finest hours, in which, breaking series format, her character is captured and psychologically tortured to discover for whom she works. As always, the first five minutes of any Mission: Impossible episode are the coolest: the lit fuse signaling Lalo Schifrin's indelible theme song, the opening-credits montage teasing the action in the upcoming episode, and Jim Phelps (Peter Graves), in some nondescript location, receiving his covert mission (usually to some nonexistent, but real-sounding country as Povia or Costa Mateo), on that self-destructing tape. It always seemed a waste of time for Phelps to go through the dossiers of possible Impossible Missions Force agents for each mission (and he does that less this season) as he invariably chose the same ones: model beauty Cinnamon (Bain), master of disguise Rollin Hand (Martin Landau), electricians expert Barney Collier (Greg Morris), and strongman Willie Armitage (Peter Lupus).

Mission: Impossible didn't delve into the team members' private lives: it was all about the mission, and together, the IMF foils any number of domestic and international villains. Some missions (foil a coup, rescue a dissident) have more at stake than others (restore boxing's good name), but there's that great moment in almost every episode when the team's target discovers that he or she has been royally IMF'd. "Don't you see?" the warden of a so-called escape-proof automated prison protests in "The Glass Cage," "they thought of everything!" He's not kidding. Not even "Q" on his best day would have come up with that faux briefcase that secretly dispenses exact replicas of the prison's towels. Mission: Impossible today does seem a little low-tech, especially when compared to the special effects-laden feature films. And for anyone who has seen Airplane, it may be difficult initially to keep a straight face whenever Peter "Do you like gladiator movies?" Graves is onscreen. But with its clever and complex stories, impeccable ensemble, and fun-to-spot guest stars (that's John "Dean Wormer" Vernon torturing Cinnamon in "The Exchange"), Mission is impossible to resist. --Donald Liebenson

Review :
Season Three-When Mission: Impossible Reached Its Peak
It was in season 3 that the show reached it peak. One outstanding episode after another. And what is really remarkable was that this was in the midst of a major behind-the-scenes power struggle that could have destroyed the series. The original pair that wrote many of the scripts and basically determined which ideas would be used were William Read Woodfield and Alan Balter. However, in the middle of the filming of the third season, they got into a major confrontation with series creator Bruce Geller and abruptly left the show which was in the midst of production without any scripts for upcoming shows. In a panic, the writer Paul Playdon, a young writer only in his 20's came on board and cranked out a series of really outstanding stories and supervised others which were written by other writers. Playdon's stories often (but not always) use a lot of fancy gadgetry which I like. This is seen in episodes like "The Bunker" and "The Glass Cage". On the other hand, his most cerebral...
MISSION: SEASON 3
This particular season 3 is a peak from a creative standpoint (scripts, film-making, actings) but later seasons still contain fine episodes: don't miss them, especially those with Leonard Nimoy (season 4 and 5) and Lynda Day George (season 6 and 7). Season 3 is chaotic because of producers' changes: William Read Woodfield/Allan Balter keep the spirit of Gantman's season 1 and 2, Robert H. Thompson and Stanley Kallis--Kallis will continue until season 4. Martin Landau deliver his finest performances in a masochist and pathological trilogy: as an agonizing death row convict in "The Execution" (produced and written by William Read Woodfield and Allan Balter), as a guinea pig simulating death by suffocation in "The Test Case" and as a hysterical political prisoner tortured to reveal informations in "The Interrogator". Season 3 features some top television directors: Sutton Roley, Stuart Hagmann, John Moxey, Resa S. Badiyi. Writer Laurence Heath fashions three of his best offerings: "The...
More of a great series
Well, here we are again with the third installment from the original Mission Impossible. This is the final season for Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. They will be replaced with Leonard Nimoy in the fourth season.

Lots of good episodes here, including my favorite, "The Execution". The theme is the same as for the previous seasons. Jim gets a secret mission, selects and briefs his team (although we don't get every detail so there are always surprises), and then they go out and roust the bad guy. Most of these are credible and believable. Once in a while there is an episode which stretches reality. All are entertaining to watch, and the hour-long show is just about right, time wise.

This set will be out in November and I'm looking forward to it with great anticipation. To date there are no extras on the DVD's and I imagine this one will follow suite. Still, the picture is sharp and clear and the audio track is reasonable (remember, these are from the 60's)...
