This type of subject Offer surpasses own prospect, this place has become a fantastic replace on myself personally, The theory showed up correctly along with speedily Saving Private Ryan (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray]

Steven Spielberg directed this powerful, realistic re-creation of WWII's D-day invasion and the immediate aftermath. The story opens with a prologue in which a veteran brings his family to the American cemetery at Normandy, and a flashback then joins Capt. John Miller (Tom Hanks) and GIs in a landing craft making the June 6, 1944, approach to Omaha Beach to face devastating German artillery fire. This mass slaughter of American soldiers is depicted in a compelling, unforgettable 24-minute sequence. Miller's men slowly move forward to finally take a concrete pillbox. On the beach littered with bodies is one with the name "Ryan" stenciled on his backpack. Army Chief of Staff Gen. George C. Marshall (Harve Presnell), learning that three Ryan brothers from the same family have all been killed in a single week, requests that the surviving brother, Pvt. James Ryan (Matt Damon), be located and brought back to the United States. Capt. Miller gets the assignment, and he chooses a translator, Cpl. Upham (Jeremy Davis), skilled in language but not in combat, to join his squad of right-hand man Sgt. Horvath (Tom Sizemore), plus privates Mellish (Adam Goldberg), Medic Wade (Giovanni Ribisi), cynical Reiben (Edward Burns) from Brooklyn, Italian-American Caparzo (Vin Diesel), and religious Southerner Jackson (Barry Pepper), an ace sharpshooter who calls on the Lord while taking aim. Having previously experienced action in Italy and North Africa, the close-knit squad sets out through areas still thick with Nazis. After they lose one man in a skirmish at a bombed village, some in the group begin to question the logic of losing more lives to save a single soldier. The film's historical consultant is Stephen E. Ambrose, and the incident is based on a true occurrence in Ambrose's 1994 bestseller D-Day: June 6, 1944.

When Steven Spielberg was an adolescent, his first home movie was a backyard war film. When he toured Europe with Duel in his 20s, he saw old men crumble in front of headstones at Omaha Beach. That image became the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan, his film of a mission following the D-day invasion that many have called the most realistic--and maybe the best--war film ever. With 1998 production standards, Spielberg has been able to create a stunning, unparalleled view of war as hell. We are at Omaha Beach as troops are slaughtered by Germans yet overcome the almost insurmountable odds. A stalwart Tom Hanks plays Captain Miller, a soldier's soldier, who takes a small band of troops behind enemy lines to retrieve a private whose three brothers have recently been killed in action. It's a public relations move for the Army, but it has historical precedent dating back to the Civil War. Some critics of the film have labeled the central characters stereotypes. If that is so, this movie gives stereotypes a good name: Tom Sizemore as the deft sergeant, Edward Burns as the hotheaded Private Reiben, Barry Pepper as the religious sniper, Adam Goldberg as the lone Jew, Vin Diesel as the oversize Private Caparzo, Giovanni Ribisi as the soulful medic, and Jeremy Davies, who as a meek corporal gives the film its most memorable performance. The movie is as heavy and realistic as Spielberg's Oscar-winning Schindler's List, but it's more kinetic. Spielberg and his ace technicians (the film won five Oscars: editing (Michael Kahn), cinematography (Janusz Kaminski), sound, sound effects, and directing) deliver battle sequences that wash over the eyes and hit the gut. The violence is extreme but never gratuitous. The final battle, a dizzying display of gusto, empathy, and chaos, leads to a profound repose. Saving Private Ryan touches us deeper than Schindler because it succinctly links the past with how we should feel today. It's the film Spielberg was destined to make. --Doug Thomas

"Saving Private Ryan" Blu-Ray Review
"Saving Private Ryan" is, by all accounts, an American masterpiece and one of the premier World War II films. Its release on Blu-Ray has been highly anticipated and, for the most part, it doesn't disappoint. First of all, the transfer is every bit as astonishingly sharp as expected. I am by no means a videophile, but there didn't appear to be a single moment of artificial enhancement of the film. The print is appropriately accompanied by a slight sheen of grain whilst still retaining a high level of detail. As far as I'm concerned this is an easy five star transfer. The film runs 2:49:28 and features audio and subtitles in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Prior to the menu loading are two easily skippped trailers for the "Minority Report" Blu-Ray and the long overdue home video release of "The African Queen".

There are no features on the first disc, not even a commentary track (Spielberg is well known for his dislike of commentary tracks). The special features are...
Unforgettable. The best war film ever made.
Some people advise others to close their eyes during the loooong opening scene of Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan. That would be a mistake. Yes, it's carnage, it's horrible, it's relentless, it's bloody, it's random death, it's a portrayal of fear and courage and raw coincidence. But it's also one of the most powerful pieces of cinematography ever filmed.
There are many other scenes that have stayed with me during the years since I last saw this unforgettable film, perhaps Spielberg's best ever. Perhaps the most poignant one that comes immediately to mind is the woman whose sons are all away at war. She's on a remote farm, washing dishes, and thru her window she sees the dust of approaching cars. She goes outside to meet the visitors, tenses as she sees military brass and a chaplain step from the cars, then crumples wordlessly to the worn boards of her front porch as she tries to take in the news: all her boys have been killed, except for one: Private Ryan.

Very good War Film
I was very impressed by ths film. I thought it would probably turn out to be rather cliched but it did seem to have a newer perspective on WW2. Some people say the characters are stereotypical - well, I served in the British Army Reserves for four years and my platoon had a fierce Scot, joking Londoner, smiling Irishman and philosphical Welshman in it, plus me as the token University Boy so I think you'll find that real-life Army units can be like that. No African Americans? Since the US Army was segregated until the sixties that is hardly surprising. Caricatured Germans? Germans running away? Well, some of them DID run away you know - they weren't all ruthlessly obedient supermen, and some were no doubt far more fed up with the war that the allies were. It would have been nice to see some British soldiers about but they were some way East taking out Caen at the time, so again, not a surprise. I wasn't sure about the film's comment on Montgomery...

Review :
Not so cowabunga, but your kids likely won't mind. SPOILERS
This film has without a doubt definitely split the fanbase, you either like it or you hate it. I'm going to try and give my best reasons as to why this film was just not very good, if you don't agree with them i understand, but just try to take some of my points into consideration instead of ridiculing me, calling me a non-fan, calling me a hater, or any other childish response.

1. To start off, the plot is incredibly generic and basically rips off part of the plot of The Amazing Spider-man. The plot also holds very little motive for both the heroes and villains actions(more on that further down, see #3 and #4).
The foot clan just inhabits New York city's underground, it's never really explained why they and Shredder are even there, but every now and then they steal stuff for generic evil mega rich business man Eric Sacks, who is secretly a member of their clan. The second they find out that there are these mutated turtles still alive from a genetic experiment thought...
Worth the 99 cent rent just to see how bad it is.
Holy cow! Oh, holy cow! This movie is just ridiculously bad. If you were a fan of the Turtles, be it comic book, the cartoon, or the older movies, do not and I mean it, do not watch this movie. Not unless you are doing it to just see how bad it is. This was a blatant disregard for any of the source material and added in way too much Megan Fox. Her acting is horrid in this movie, and was on purpose placed in this movie for sex appeal. Believe me when I say there isn't a scene that goes by that someone doesn't mention some sexual innuendo regarding her. Don't get me wrong, she is an attractive girl, but you don't need to be reminded every 2 minutes. You even get a butt shot and comment from a guy in a very tense situation. I rented this one on Amazon for 99 cents, though I think I got my 99 cents worth out of it, that was about it. If it costs more then that, don't waste the money. To give you a little insight, the Turtles are 8-9 feet tall, are completely bulletproof, and...
This movie should be called April O'Neil, not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
This movie is abysmal. As a fan of the original series, I was offended. As a female fan of the original series, I was deeply offended. This movie should be entitled April O'Neil, and not the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This movie focuses almost solely on Megan Fox and her portrayal of April O'Neil. You don't even see a Turtle until about half an hour into the movie. The Turtles are a side plot to the main story of April's life and career.
Note to any producers and directors looking to remake this beloved film for a third time: Girls like the Ninja Turtles too. Please focus your movie making efforts on the title characters and not their female human sidekick.

mission impossible 4 movie pack blu-ray set

Review :
Well-made series
For years I had a grudge against Tom Cruise, though I can't remember why. But I decided to give him another try and bought this album of the MI movies. I remember the first MI movie, and I liked it. But I was really impressed with the whole four-movie series. As far as action movies though, these are quite exceptional. Whether you buy them separately or altogether, I highly recommend these.

Mission: Impossible Collection [Blu-ray]
Even though I had already watched at least three of the four Mission Impossible movies, I couldn't resist purchasing the Mission Impossible "Collection" composed of one thru four. It was a great way to bring me up to date before going to the theater and watching Mission Impossible number five! As an added note, this was quite a deal because the collection of four movies was at a reduced bargain price and was Blu-ray!

All thumbs up👍👍
Great collection in great price! Highly recommended!

Blaze is a huge hit!
Blaze High-Speed Adventures is another great DVD! This DVD includes four episodes which are: Bouncy Tires(Zeg), Stuntmania(Darington), Epic Sail(Stripes) and my son's favorite Team Truck Challenge(Pickle). My kid absolutely love this DVD and while he loves blaze he also is thrilled with Pickle which is why team truck challenge is his favorite episode as Blaze and Pickle team up to win a race together and he was shouting go Pickle throughout the race. I love that he counts and talks along with the movie, it's great to see his excitement. The only downside to this video is that from what I watched of the DVD Starla is not in these episodes which my son noticed.

* after having watched it more Starla actually appears briefly in the episode (Bouncy Tires).

4 Episodes
We never seem to catch this on television but it sure is an adorable show. I wish it was around when my middle child was younger as he loved monster trucks. It is a show all about monster truck friends and their silly daily adventures. Each truck has a personality that kids can relate to. I had no idea about the scientific principles and STEM concepts that are behind the show, I love that so much thought is put behind it. This DVD features four episodes that have previously aired on television but great to have on hand for those times when the show is not on.

Review :
King's "The Stand" sets up final conflict between good, evil
Hailed as one of the best fantasy/horror novels ever written, Stephen King's The Stand has been published in two different versions -- a slimmed down original edition in 1978 and a slightly updated and unabridged version in 1991. And although both stick to the same story -- a U.S. government-created strain of the flu wipes out 99% of humanity and the survivors join two opposing camps in the ultimate face-off between good and evil -- they differ somewhat, particularly at the very end.
Of all of King's novels, The Stand is the one most of his readers ask about or comment on, and until 1994, when ABC commissioned a miniseries based on this sprawling opus, one question always was "Will there be a movie based on this one?" (King replied in the foreword to the "uncut and unabridged" edition that he thought there might be...)
Unlike most of King's novels, the sheer scope of the novel guaranteed that The Stand would have to be a miniseries made for TV. To have...
Fair Miniseries Adaptation, Excellent Behind The Scenes DVD
For those who are looking to "experience" The Stand for the first time, I strongly recommend reading the book first. The book is the best version of this story containing scenes written with such detail, great dialogue, great character development, and it is so real that once you've read the last page you'll feel as though you woke up from a fantastic dream where you wish you could go back to sleep and continue living in Stephen King's fantasyland.
With that said, the six hour TV miniseries (minus two hours of television commercials that aren't on the DVD) gets a passing grade of about a C+. The choice of actors chosen for the TV miniseries range from the excellent, to good, to the not so good. The best casting choices were Gary Sinise as Stuart Redman, Rob Lowe as Nick Andros, Bill Fagerbakke as Tom Cullen, Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg, and Laura San Giacomo as Nadine Cross. Those that presented their characters in a convincing manner were Ruby Dee as Mother...
Amazing adaptation of Stephen King's apocalyptic novel
From the moment I first sat down to watch this miniseries in 1994 and heard the first few opening bars of "Don't Fear the Reaper," I have loved this movie. I have read every one of Stephen King's books and have seen most of the movies adapted from these books. Some of the adaptations have been awful, others good, and a few, such as The Shawshank Redemption, truly great; The Stand definitely belongs in this elite latter category. I have heard that some fans of King's novel were disappointed in this miniseries, but to me, what's not to like?
What really makes this movie work is the exceptional--and at times unconventional--casting. The Stand was my first exposure to Gary Sinise, and I immediately fell in love with his perfect portrayal of Stu. One of my teen idols, Rob Lowe, did an absolute amazing job with the role of Nick, proving that he had true range as an actor long before The West Wing came along. I don't know why Adam Storke has not had more career success,...

Originally aired as a television mini-series, this all-star filmization of Stephen King's gripping epic of good versus evil chronicles the episodic adventures of a disparate group of people who struggle to reestablish civilization after a man-made catastrophe wipes out most of the world's population. The world abruptly ends when a deadly virus accidentally escapes from a government sponsored biological warfare laboratory. Soon people are dropping like flies from the plague, but a few survive and find themselves strangely compelled to head into the West. Good-hearted people follow the voice of an ancient black woman and head for Boulder, Colorado. Bad people follow the enigmatic Walkin' Dude to Las Vegas. It is only a matter of time before the two sides are forced into a climactic battle over the final fate of humanity.

A Review of the Actual Product - It's A Fan's Dream Come True!
There have been so many people treating this section as a message board instead of reviews it's absurd. I have the set and have been watching it, so this is an actual REVIEW.

PACKAGING
The packaging is nicely done and good quality. However I prefer practical packaging and it takes a little effort to flip through and access the discs. There isn't a booklet listing all of the disc contents, which is a bit frustrating as you have to insert a disc to see which special features it contains. This is nitpicking because it looks very good and there is a neat little surprise after you flip through all of the discs.

HD UPGRADE QUALITY
All episodes of the TV show, including both versions of the pilot, have been meticulously scanned and remastered from the original negatives. People seem to forget that this show was finished in 1990 TV resolution. Thankfully it was shot on film and those film negatives could be used to create HD masters. It took considerable work...
AUDIO SYNCING PROBLEMS! Looking for an exchange...
I would be quick to give this set a 4 or 5 star review - the picture quality is beautiful, the extras are nice, and the packaging is superb. I jumped to pre-order this as soon as it was available.

Unfortunately, I am among the many people who are experiencing serious audio syncing problems. The "Missing Pieces" are wayyy out of whack, and many people are also reporting audio issues with some episodes and with Fire Walk With Me. People with all sorts of BluRay players are reporting major problems in these areas. For an item that is so expensive and is priced so because of its top-quality sound and images, this is completely unacceptable.

Many of us are trying to reach out to CBS Home Entertainment through social media, but we've yet to hear about an exchange where we'll be given working disks. I would imagine we will hear something about this, but if not, I'll be returning this for a full refund. That would be a bummer considering how much I was looking...
"Where's My Axe? I'm HUNGRY! A Disc-By-Disc Overview Of 'TWIN PEAKS: The Entire Mystery' Blu-ray Set......"
A QUICK OVERVIEW OF THE SHOW ITSELF (see THE BLU-RAY SET section below for information on complaints about the set's quality)...

'TWIN PEAKS' was originally conceived as a crime-drama-mystery, but became so much more, including an instant cultural phenomena after it's debut on the ABC Network on April 8, 1990. Created by cult director David Lynch (THE ELEPHANT MAN, BLUE VELVET, MULHOLLAND DRIVE) and writer/producer Mark Frost (HILL STREET BLUES, FANTASTIC FOUR), the series started off strong, due to a successful publicity campaign and people's curiosity to see how David Lynch's aesthetic would translate to network TV. The two-hour pilot, which aired on a Sunday, was seen by a third of the TV viewing audience and the following seven episodes of the first season benefited greatly from "the water cooler effect," people discussing it at work the next day. Unfortunately ABC began to broadcast the following...

mission impossible 4 movie pack blu-ray set

Overall a very good season
If you are a huge South Park fan like me, odds are you don't need a review telling you what to expect from season 17. If this is going to be the first South Park you have watched however; this review may help.

Overall, this was a great season. It got off to a great start with episodes like "Let Go, Let Gov" and "World War Zimmerman". There was a slight dip in the writing quality mid-season, and I'd argue that "Ginger Cow" was their weakest episode. Matt and Trey made up for it though with the excellent Black Friday trilogy of episodes parodying Game of Thrones and setting up the story for Matt and Trey's recently released video game "South Park: The Stick of Truth". The season finale was great as well, and it will leave you laughing and a little heart-broken.

I only wanted to take off half a star for the quality dip mid season which is understandable due to Matt and Trey's commitment to the video game and the ongoing success...
Good Episodes and 'Meh just okay' episodes
South Park is hands down one of my all-time favorite shows and I own every season. I usually buy them as soon as a season is released. This season, like I have found with all other seasons of South Park over the last few years, has it's good episodes and it's 'meh just okay' episodes. All in all it was a good season though.

I loved that they did another trilogy and those 3 episodes are by far the best and worth the $20 for this season (Black Friday, A Song of Ass and Fire, and Titties and Dragons). This was obviously a great way to also promote their new video game The Stick of Truth (which is also AMAZING and any South Park fan should pick it up) as it was released shortly after this season and follows the same theme. There were also a couple other episodes that were good and worth watching. It almost feels like are slightly losing their touch with this show however. It doesn't have the same oomph that it used to. It is still extremely amusing but over the last couple of...
Great South Park Season
The 17th season of South Park had some very funny and memorable episodes in it. I especially liked the new goth kids episode, and the three part Black-Friday Episodes. Season 17 blu-ray will include Mini-Commentaries for Each Episode with Parker and Stone, Deleted Scenes and possibly more special that haven't been announce yet. So, the bottom line is that this season is just as funny as South Park has always been, and belongs in your collection.
Episodes:
17.01: Let Go, Let Gov
17.02: Informative Murder Porn
17.03: World War Zimmerman
17.04: Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers
17.05: Taming Strange
17.06: Ginger Cow
17.07: Black Friday
17.08: A Song of Ass and Fire

Yeah for a Monster Truck as the Main Character!
This is a great DVD featuring two episodes of a new show on Nickelodeon called Blaze & The Monster Machines. We have actually not caught this on television yet so it was a nice surprise to watch the first two episodes, actually premier of the show, at home when we had the chance. My 6 year old is a huge monster truck fan and this is the first show that I have seen that features monster trucks as the main characters! Very cool and made my kids very happy! The episodes are wholesome, aged for preschool and up, and have simple lessons for kids to follow such as working together, friendship and value.

we love BLAZE!
My 3 year old loves this show! I am giving this only 4 stars because there are only 3 episodes on this dvd. I would have thought it would have been the whole first series. Nonetheless, we love BLAZE!

Review :
fast paced and exciting
After the original series Avatar: The Last Airbender ended, the Nickelodeon folks (for some reason unfathomable to me) quashed any hopes of ever reviving it. They eventually confirmed that fans had shown a positive response to Avatar Kyoshi and were interested in starting up a new series based on a female Avatar and to avoid a rehash of Aang's adventures it would be set in a single semi-modern city and feature people who are anti-bending of any element. True to their word, enter Avatar Korra. If you're wondering about Zuko's mom or are craving a continuation of the gang's adventures I recommend Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Promise, Part 1. The book raises more questions than it answers but it is definitely a start to unraveling the mystery. The rest of the comics are as of 5/18/2012 unpublished so we have no choice other than to be patient and let the series creators tell the story in their own time/way...
Great for the whole family
I was a dedicated fan of the original. My daughter (5) and I routinely watch the original series. I approached the new one with trepidation they might ruing the legacy (can you blame me after the movie) and hope that the original creators wouldn't let me down.

This new series has delivered beyond my expectations. It takes the original and advances it - creating something that is both familiar and new at the same time. For fans of the original, there are many shout outs and in-references to characters and events past. There is humor, drama, intrigue, and a villain with a mysterious enough back story to pull you in. I don't want to say too much and risk spoilers.

I also like the strong female role model. As a dad of two, its nice to see lead female characters. Avatar has always had strong female role models, and this series is no different.

Newcomers, do not worry if you haven't seen the original. My wife can count on one hand the number of...
Korra Arrives Early
I just finished watching the first episode of Legend of Korra. I was very pleasantly surprised that it arrived early on Amazon. I have been looking forward to this show since seeing the preview at last year's Comicon. It is definitely different from the first three season of Avatar but very enjoyable. Korra is a very strong, willful teen girl who can kick butt and take names, but like Aang has a lot to learn about the world and her place in it. This episode does a good job of introducing new characters, giving some closure on old characters, and introducing a new world for the rest of the series. It left me exciting and looking forward to the rest of the series.

Here's a description of what's on this DVD
My son loves "Paw Patrol" so I wanted to know what was going to be on this DVD. Since there isn't a description of what this DVD is yet, I am posting this review to include the description I found elsewhere on the Internet. I wanted to know, so thought others would too, in order to make a decision whether to buy or not. Here's the description from http://paw-patrol.wikia.com

"PAW Patrol" is on a roll - even through the ice and snow - in these 7 wintery missions, including a double-length adventure to save Christmas! From a ski-lift rescue to tracking down a snow monster, no job is too big and no pup is too small. Plus, see how Rubble first joined the team by helping out in a snowy situation.

Episodes:
Pups Save Christmas
Pups Get a Rubble
Pups and the Snow Monster
Pups Get a Lift
Pups on Ice
Pups Save the Treats
Pups Fall Festival

I gave it 5 stars because we have seen some of the episodes already...
Cute show and my son loves it
I received an early release last week, and my son (3 1/2) has been absolutely fascinated. He asks for this DVD every time he gets to pick a show to watch, and he would watch it on continuous repeat if we'd let him. It's not as annoying as some of the other shows he likes, and there is very little commercialism in this DVD - a surprise, considering there is a Christmas episode. They don't even force viewers to fast-forward past a bunch of previews to get to the menu. The focus is really on the rescues, problem solving, and the friendships between the team members. I wish there were more than one female in the team and she didn't wear pink, but that's a minor quibble.

7 Fun Episodes
This is a great DVD featuring Paw Patrol characters in seven episodes. The episodes all feature winter adventures and missions that the Paw Patrol characters tackle. My 3 year old daughter loves Paw Patrol and those silly dogs I admit make me smile as well. They are wholesome characters and teach great lessons for kids. The episodes have been previously aired on television but it is nice to have them all on one DVD.

The episodes include:

Pups Save Christmas
Pups on Ice
Pups and the Snow Monster
Pups Save the Treats
Pups Get a Lift
Pups Get a Rubble
Pups Save a Walrus
