Wicked FUN!
What a ride! This was entertainment at it's best, a kind of James Bond meets Kill Bill meets Harry Potter. The premise is simple: Eggsy, the main younger character, and a talented yet troubled youth of sorts is invited to try out for the Kingsmen. The first part of the movie is primarily training, interaction with the inevitable entitled bullies, etc. Of course, there is a mentor, played by Colin Firth, who is absolutely amazing in this role - stiff upper lip and all, but who does let his emotional side come through occasionally in his interactions with young Eggsy as he learns and grows.

No spy movie is complete without a super villain intent on world domination, and Samuel L Jackson plays this to the hilt, along with being quite squeamish about blood and violence. His outfits alone are worth watching.

This entire movie feels like an homage to the spy movies of the past, with top notch acting, believable character interactions, and some incredible...
Are we going to stand around here ALL day, or are we going to fight?
Here's an idea for you -- James Bond in the style of "Kick Ass," with a side of Harry Potter. Awesome? Awful?

Yeah, "Kingsman: The Secret Service" -- based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons's comic book series -- could have been the biggest, most grotesque flop in years. Instead, it ends up being a quirky, clever spy thriller that uses all the cliches in fresh ways -- it has the updated villains and razor-edged violence of newer spy movies movies, combined with the style and Empire sensibilities of the older ones. Also, Colin Firth as a secret agent.

Smart but aimless, Gary "Eggsy" Unwin is like thousands of other working-class British youths -- he lives in a rotten little apartment with his neurotic mother and abusive stepfather, and has gotten in some scrapes with the law. The one unusual thing about him is that when his father died under classified circumstances, and a mysterious man named Harry Hart (Colin Firth) left him with a medal, a...
Love It, Love It, Love IT!
One of the best action comedies of the last few years. Great cast just all having a bit of fun. Once you don't take it too seriously, you will have a ball. Being a Brit now living in the US, it made me miss London, but it also made me proud that we Brits can still kick *ss, but do it with a lot of class, and are always gentlemanly, even to our foes. I was a big fan of Colin Firth before this movie, and am now even a bigger fan.

Word of warning: This is not for the squeamish or for prudes. There is a lot of gore, and some sexual references (hence the "R" rating), but if you are not easily offended then you will love it just as I did.

Review :
Scary good movie, well worth the time..
I thought this film was great! Well written, the actors were all spot-on as their characters AND the characters were all well developed, so you could care about what really happened in this "scary good" movie. I don't want to spoil any of the plot, but as a mother, Diane Lane was creepy in her depiction of the mother ashamed of her daughter's looks, while all the while, being more than just a little loving and caring to the character of "Ronnie", played by Dakota Fanning. I definitely think this a story worth watching, especially in light of just way too many crimes that are being committed by minors in our present day society.

Great Ensemble Cast!
(Every Secret Thing) has an amazing ensemble cast Starring Diane Lane...Elizabeth Banks...Common...Dakota Fanning and Nate Parker. All the acting was amazing by the supporting cast as well.

The story revolves around two young women who were sent to prison as young girls for kidnapping and killing a biracial baby girl. The girls (Dakota Fanning) and (Danielle Macdonald) are released after Seven years and soon after their release, a Three year old biracial girl goes missing from a furniture store while her parents aren't looking.

Detective Nancy Porter (Elizabeth Banks) who found the dead infant reluctantly takes on this missing child case and of course these girls are the main suspects! As the movie goes on, as each girl is interrogated we see each girl's version of what happened the day the baby was kidnapped and and eventually killed.

Diane Lane is perfect as the mother of one of the notorious girls as the role requires almost bi polar type behavior...
Very powerful and suspenseful. Diane Lane is mesmerizing. Great thriller.
Very powerful, atmospheric and suspenseful film. If you like thrillers like 'Prisoners', 'Mystic River', 'Gone Girl', 'Gone Baby Gone' etc you will love this - although this film is also very original. The cast are amazing and all deliver superb performances with Oscar nominee Diane Lane being the standout. Very recommended.

This type of thing delivers exceeded own prospect, that one has chaned into a amazing upgrade on me personally, The idea came properly along with swiftly The Secret World of Arrietty

Discover THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY where imagination comes to life! The studio that brought you PONYO and the Academy Award(R)-winning SPIRITED AWAY (2002, Best Animated Feature) once again delivers a heartwarming tale of friendship and courage in beautiful animation! In a secret world hidden beneath the floorboards, little people called Borrowers live quietly among us. But when tenacious and tiny Arrietty is discovered by Shawn, a human boy, their secret and forbidden friendship blossoms into an extraordinary adventure. Featuring the voices of Disney Channel's Bridgit Mendler and David Henrie and comedic all-stars Will Arnett, Amy Poehler and Carol Burnett, and based on the award-winning novel THE BORROWERS -- THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY will delight families of all sizes! The Secret World of Arrietty is a remake of the magical fairy tale The Borrowers, as seen through the keen, imaginative eye of Japanese writer Hayao Miyazaki. The American version of this delicately, richly animated film is that rarest of children's movies--one that is a deeply engaging experience for adults as well. The visuals and graphics are gasp-inducing, yet never over the top or too showy. And the actors dubbing Arrietty in English, including standouts Amy Poehler, Will Arnett, and Carol Burnett, are expressive and emotive. The Secret World of Arrietty tells the tale of a small family of "borrowers," tiny people who live underneath the homes of the "beans" (human beings). The borrowers must stealthily gather small bits of items they need--a sugar cube, a sheet of tissue, biscuits--from the upstairs without being discovered by the beans. Arrietty is a plucky teenager (voice by Bridgit Mendler) whose parents (Poehler and Arnett) think she's ready for her first "borrowing" excursion. But meanwhile, a young "bean" named Shawn has moved into the house above them, to rest and prepare for a heart operation, and to be cared for by the flighty Hara (Burnett). Shawn thinks he might have seen… something… moving in the meadow where he rests and reads. It's not giving away too much to say that Arrietty and Shawn brush against each other's lives--and neither's is the same afterward. For any fans of Miyazaki's other films, and anyone of any age seeking immersive family-friendly entertainment that's life-affirming, The Secret World of Arrietty is a winning experience. --A.T. A Wondrous Film Going Experience...
This film is a must see for anyone who loves hand drawn animation. This is an experience filmgoers just don't get at the theater anymore and I praise studio Ghibli (and in tandem Disney as far as North America is concerned) for continuing this tradition. I also implore anyone who feels interested in seeing this film at any level go do so and support the studio, I would like to see them around for years to come and I don't think many will be disappointed with the experience.

First of all, no, Miyazaki didn't actually direct this time around. He only penned and planned the story along with other production guidance. So I'm okay with saying this arguably isn't Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, or Howl's Moving Castle, but this is that studio Ghibli magic you love. I feel it closely kindred to Kiki's Delivery Service or My Neighbor Totoro. I personally fail to see how any Studio Ghibli fan could walk away from this film unhappy. For that matter I fail to see how any child at...
This one is not to be missed
The Secret World of Arrietty is one of those rare films that only gets better with each additional viewing. Beyond the visual beauty and simple emotional honesty that engage you from the start, there's a world of seemingly endless detail that gradually emerges, giving the sense that you've entered into a deeply layered reality. The transitions from one shot to the next and from scene to scene are utterly masterful. Students of film making might study Arrietty to learn how all the elements of a film maker's vocabulary should be fit together for optimal effect.

I could go on and on like this, but the main thing I want to get across is that this is an unusually good movie--a rare pleasure for both eye and ear. (That last part has to do not only with the exceptional voice acting and sound effects, but also with the voice and harp of Cécile Corbel.) You really don't want to miss this one, whether...
"My heart is stronger because now I have you in it..." another wonderful Ghibli movie - a must see!
I was lucky to have won tickets to this movie's preview and took my family to see it in NYC this past weekend - what a treat! To be specific, we are a family of three with a teenager in high school, and everybody just loved this beautiful new animated movie that's perfect for all groups. As with all the movies Ghibli Studio produces, this is a rich visual masterpiece that you will really get lost in, with very life-like vegetation and insect life serving as a background for a seemingly simple, but very heartfelt story.

Mr. Miyazaki does not disappoint, retelling the original children's story "Borrowers" by Mary Norton and placing it in the present, with the main characters being Shawn, a sickly boy who is sent to live with his great aunt and her maid Hara, where he discovers a secret family of tiny people that includes husband and wife Pod and Homily and Arrietty, their 13-year-old daughter who is just learning to "borrow," something her kind does to survive. As the...

Review :
Awesome movie!
I'm nine and a half years old and this is my opinion on Barbie and the Secret Door. This movie is one of the best Barbie movies I've ever seen. Not like in some barbie movies, the main character isn't named Barbie. I mean, no offense of course but “ Barbie " isn't exactly a real name. Next, I love how the main character shows her loyalty to her friends. There's also some funny moments in the beginning which I like. At the part where it's almost the end something really unexpected happens which is also a little funny and strange. The moral to this movie is that you can't do anything if you don't try, and even though I know that already, it's fun to see other people learn it in such a fantastic way. I also want to note that the coloring is beautiful.
I was going to give this four and a half stars, but I can't seem to figure out how to do the “ half ” thing. The only problem is that buying HD and the SD are the same price! ( at least for amazon instant video )...
... and watched it and honestly it was a lot better than I expected it to be
I purchased the movie today and watched it and honestly it was a lot better than I expected it to be. I would probably give it 7/10. The songs are pretty cheesy, bland and random (to me) but the story line is cute. The main villain though is kinda irritating to me, but for a kids movie I guess it makes sense the way Mattel made her. I think children will really enjoy this movie! I would give it a try and the moral of the story is a good lesson for young children as well! To believe in yourself and take a chance even though you might afraid to do something like given a speech in class, or to let your true colors shine. So all in all, Id recommended this movie. :)

Just lovely!
Barbie opens a Secret Door to a wonderful world of magic, music and friendship!
This time around, Barbie stars as Alexa, a shy princess who'd rather immerse herself in books and fantasy than face her royal duties. Soon her understanding grandmother gives her a magical book that opens up a secret door in her garden, leading to a magical world of fairies, mermaids and unicorns like the ones in her books. But this vivid and seemingly idyllic world has one major problem; a spoiled ruler named Malucia who is determined to steal all the magic in the land for herself.

When Alexa arrives, most of the inhabitants have already been robbed of their magic; leaving Alexa as one of the few who still have certain inherent powers. As such, she is able to help her new friends face Malucia and get their own magic back.

Barbie and the Secret Door is filled with many fun new characters; but my favorite is Malucia, who brings a fresh spin to the usual Barbie villainess. She...
