The FINAL 29 episodes of BTAS!!!
Even though the description on Amazon says 28, there are 29 episodes total in this set. This completes the 85 total episodes of Batman: The Animated Series which ran from 1992-1995. It was known as The Adventures of Batman & Robin starting from Season 3 onward which included a new opening sequence and theme (which are included on the proper episodes). These episodes are still considered part of BTAS and are included in this set.

This set DOES NOT include the 24 episodes from Batman: Gotham Knights (aka The New Batman Adventures) which ran from 1997-1999 alongside Superman TAS on WB. Hopefully a 4th set that includes these episodes will be released later this year.

The episodes included in this third volume are considered some of the best episodes in the entire series. There are some great commentaries (Read my Lips, House and Garden, Harlequinade) and featurettes (Gotham's New Knight - Batgirl). It also includes a trailer for the new Batman Begins movie. As...
New Villains! 29 (not 28) episodes! Batgirl!
This is a hard decision, but I have to say that this volume is better than the other two. Barbara Gordon gets introduced as Batgirl for the first time, and we meet new villains! Ra's Al Ghul, Baby-Doll, Scarface, Bane, Lock Up, are Maxie Zeus and introduced in these 29 great episodes. Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, The Mad Hatter, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, The Clock King, and Red Claw return! This is clearly a better volume than the previous because it concludes "Batman: The Animated Series," and has cool extras. Some people, however, think that the extras (special features) are bad because they're mainly commentary. Well, I hope you buy this totally awesome 4-disc set.....packed with 609 minutes of action!!! Some episodes descriptions to get you interested are the following: Ra's Al Ghul needs Batman's help to find his daughter Talia, Batman's villains hold a trial against him, Scarface frames Catwoman, the Joker steals an atomic bomb, Red Claw plans to...

Batman: The Animated Series Vol. 4

Vowing to avenge the senseless murder of his wealthy parents, Bruce Wayne (voiced by series star KEVIN CONROY) devotes his life to wiping out lawlessness in Gotham City. The Dark Knight occasionally joins Robin and Batgirl, battling his own inner demons as often as the evil figures who bedevil him. Relive the Batman saga in this faithful rendering of the character and stories. Volume four features all the action, villainy and heroism of previous installments.

]]>The fourth and final volume of Batman: The Animated Series is a little uneven but still encompasses some great episodes. Start with "Over the Edge," a nightmarish scenario in which Commissioner Gordon dedicates himself to hunting down Batman following the death of his daughter, Batgirl. "Critters" is a tribute to Japanese monster movies, "Mad Love" recounts the origin of Harley Quinn, and "Legends of the Dark Knight" animates both a '50s-styled Batman adventure as well as a scene from Frank Miller's Return of the Dark Knight. This run of 24 episodes has a lot of Batgirl, too little Nightwing, and a lot of the new Robin, Tim Drake, whose origin is explained in "Sins of the Father." Drake gets a mostly solo adventure, Batgirl teams with Supergirl, and there's still a sense of fun, with goofy humor that includes an appearance by the Three Stooges as the Joker's henchmen. Guest voices include Sela Ward as Calendar Girl and Tippi Hedren, and Mark Hamill continues the excellent work as the Joker that created some early rumors about his taking the live-action role in the sequel to Batman Begins. By this time, Batman had become part of the Batman/Superman Hour, so viewers can choose the opening sequence for either that or the original animated series. That, as well as the unbalanced number of episodes in the seasons (e.g., the first season of the animated series was 60 episodes), is why Batman: The Animated Series was released in volumes rather than as single-season sets. --David Horiuchi

Review :
The New Batman Adventures
These episodes were produced two years after the original Batman: Animated series ended, and were made for the KidsWB Saturday morning block, which was still relatively new at that time. What's notable about these episodes is that the character designs have been totally revamped, and this was when the "DC animated universe" really began, as Batman stories would often cross-over with the Superman series and vice-versa.

The real shame about The New Batman Adventures is that KidsWB basically stopped production after 24 episodes, so we don't get to see the new revamps as much as we'd like (ex. Riddler, unfortunately, only shows up in minor cameos). A host of new villains and femme fatales appear, including Calendar Girl, Roxy Rocket, and the (dreaded) Farmer Brown and his mutant farm animals. Etrigan and The Creeper make their first animated appearances, but only get an episode each (Etrigan was later fleshed out in Justice League). Most telling is that certain plot threads...
Batman Ends
The episodes compiled in this fourth collection of the animated Batman series is from the Kids WB New Batman Adventures, which hit Saturday mornings a while after the classic Batman: The Animated Series was over with. Most of the voice cast was retained (including Kevin Conroy as the Dark Knight), but the animation underwent a complete overhaul, which would be seen on the animated Superman series as well as the current Justice League Unlimited. The animation transformation isn't for everyone, but it works for the most part, and the storytelling is still top notch. In the episodes collected here, we learn why Dick Grayson quit being Robin and became Nightwing, and we also see the origin of the new Robin, Tim Drake. DC character the Creeper makes his animated debut, and there's a delicious new, and horrifying, twist and look to the Scarecrow (voiced by Jeffrey Combs). The "World's Finest" episodes are here as well, which is the first (of many) cross overs with Batman and Superman...
From The New Batman Adventures!
New adventures await you and the Gotham Knights in Batman: The Animated Series, Volume Four - The New Batman Adventures! Revamped from the dark deco days of the original series with a simpler yet stylized new look, the New Batman Adventures featured the Gotham Knights: Batman & Robin, Batgirl and Nightwing in some of their most memorable episodes. Introducing the voices of Mathew Valencia as Tim Drake, the new Robin and Tara Charendoff-Strong (replacing Melissa Gilbert-Brinkman) as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, this 4-disc (521 min.) set contains all 24 episodes from the series which include classics "You Scratch My Back", "Old Wounds" and fan-favorite "Over the Edge". Other highlights include "Legends of the Dark Knight" which acknowledges the works of Bill Finger, Dick Sprang and Frank Miller. Not to mention "Never Fear" featuring the most horrific version of the Scarecrow (chillingly voiced by Jeffrey Combs) ever animated. The New Batman Adventures not only refined the designs of the...

Batman: The Animated Series Vol. 2

Vowing to avenge the murder of his wealthy parents, Bruce Wayne devotes his life to wiping out lawlessness in Gotham City. The Dark Knight battles his inner demons as well as the evil figures who bedevil him. Volume two features appearances from villains Killer Croc, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, Ra's Al Ghul and others.

]]>The early-'90s Batman series was probably the best animated superhero show ever, mixing stylish animation with a dark tone appropriate for the Dark Knight. The second volume, comprising four discs of 28 episodes and vastly preferable to the many single-disc releases, features familiar characters the Joker, Catwoman, the Penguin, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, as well as the first appearances of the Riddler, and Ra's Al Ghul and Talia. The episodes are highlighted by the Emmy-winning two-parter "Robin's Reckoning," which recounts the origin of the Boy Wonder and his chance for revenge years later. In "Perchance to Dream," Bruce Wayne finds his parents alive and another Batman patrolling Gotham City, the two-part "Something" pits Batman against Miyazaki-styled robots, and Batman revisits the samurai training of his past in "Night of the Ninja" and "Day of the Samurai." Give the series credit for not talking down to kids--Japanese characters spoke in Japanese with English subtitles, and one episode, "Almost Got 'Im," was styled after a '50s black-and-white variety show. It employed smart humor and characterization even to the point where it could let villains carry an episode. Certain stories were based on comic books, and the series involved comics veterans such as Denny O'Neil and Len Wein. Also camp-master Adam West appears as the voice of the Grey Ghost. --David Horiuchi

It is more of a sequel to the Batman Be-Leagured TV special (more on that in the special features.) This is actually a great fan service video, especially if you read the comics. The amount of fan humor than only a DC fan would get probably occupied half of all the jokes, which may have this end up with a bad rating but if you love your DC you will love this. And of course Lego does a very good job with this stuff I'm always impressed with what they can do with just legos.... its very impressive.

Another Great LEGO DC movie to take home!
After a Bizarro makes a disastrous attempt to save kids on a playground who don’t need saving, Superman decides to take Bizarro to a new world he’s discovered which he has named Bizarro World. Flash forward one year and an attack on Lex Corp brings the Justice League to investigate, only to discover that Bizarro has stolen the duplicate ray and makes twins of the entire League. Now the heroes and their twisted twins must team up to defeat Darkseid and save Bizarro World.
While this short film follows LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite, it’s not a direct sequel to those and doesn’t include anything related the Brainiac tease that ended that film. It is more of a sequel to the Batman Be-Leagured TV special (more on that in the special features.) Between that first Lego Batman movie and The Lego Movie, there are some pretty big shoes to fill and this film does an admirable job. The voice work is good, with Troy Baker returning to play...
Laughs, laughs, and more laughs.
One of the funniest collections you'll ever watch and I'm not even the demographic for this. Great for the whole family.

Lego Awesomesauce
This is actually a great fan service video, especially if you read the comics. The amount of fan humor than only a DC fan would get probably occupied half of all the jokes, which may have this end up with a bad rating but if you love your DC you will love this. And of course Lego does a very good job with this stuff I'm always impressed with what they can do with just legos.... its very impressive.

Teen Titans: The Complete First Season (DVD)

"Fighting for truth, justice and the last slice of pizza, these five superheroes are living proof that you're never too young to save the planet. Protecting Earth and beyond, the Teen Titans live and operate from their T-shaped, high-tech headquarters. Using martial arts and cutting-edge gadgetry, the teens battle villains, giant monsters and alien invaders--and still find time to argue over who's going to do the dishes. As the hip teens try to find their place in the world, they must also cope with the tribulations of adolescence. Teen Titans fuses hip, anime-style visuals with awesome stunts and real ""teen world"" humor for a super adventurous good time. Fasten your cape, hop in the hoverjet...it's time to save the world! Featuring many stand-alone, single-story episodes, this coming-of-age series about friendship and loyalty allows viewers to see each character in his or her own light yet maintains a fully realized group dynamic. Every character-driven episode is strong on action and humor. As they survive surprising twists and turns, the teens never know who or what they may encounter, from dangerous villains to alternate dimensions and daring undercover missions. Watch for exciting guest appearances from popular DC Comic characters such as Speedy, Aqualad, Wildebeest and Warp."

]]>The complete first season of Cartoon Network and WBTV's fine adaptation of Marv Wolfman and George Perez's '80s-era DC Comics title Teen Titans arrives in a 13-episode two-disc set. The attractive, anime-influenced episodes of the series' 2003 debut season pit the Titans--former Batman sidekick Robin, Beast Boy, Starfire, Cyborg, Terra, and Raven--against a horde of regular foes, including Slade (voiced by Ron Perlman), Trigon, Trident, Mad Mod, and many others. True to their age, the Titans also have to deal with issues about maturity, confidence, a hint of romance, and even a body-switch between two members. --Paul Gaita

Review :
A Pleasant Suprise that Just Got Better
I'll admit, I wasn't feeling particularly hopeful for "Teen Titans" when I saw the first previews. We were already seeing quite a few animated shows copying the style of Japanese animation as it became more popular. So it was a very pleasant suprise when I found that "Teen Titans" not only featured a much deeper understanding of the workings of anime, but also focused on top notch voice acting and character centered storytelling. It took them an episode or two to really find their footing, but once they did, "Teen Titans" was one of the best shows on television, and later seasons only improved on what had been set up. I can see how the use of the more cartoony aspects of anime - super-deformed characters, anime inspired wild takes, and the like - might turn some people off, but do yourself a favor and watch a few episodes. Once you get used to the style, you'll start seeing the storytelling that kept fans of the show coming back.

The four star rating (as opposed to...
They Got The Bad Guys On The Run
This set compiles two previously released discs, making up the entire first season of Cartoon Network's breakaway hit that introduced the Titans to a new generation and paved the way for Japanese popsters Puffy Amiyumi to develop their own cartoon show. Season 1's overall arc introduces Slade (known in the comics as Deathstroke The Terminator) and his attempts to coerce Robin into becoming his apprentice, and Robin's continued battle against Slade and his influence.

Slade is presented here as the anti-Batman, making a much more frightening villain than Bane (who is actually a good villian but has been presented in most cinematic media as a thorough waste of ink). Despite the detractors' complaints of its anime influence, Teen Titans is a well-written and extremely well-done series, with seasons 2, 3, and 4 going on to deal with Slade's destruction and its aftermath, Brother Blood and the Hive, the creation of the West Coast team, the threat of Raven's demonoid father...
Teen Titans Go!
This 2-disc set collects the first 13 episodes of Teen Titans, which were also previously released on 2 single-disc editions.

I like Teen Titans. It's a very different take on the DC characters than Batman, Superman, and Justice League, and there are obvious anime influences in the fight scenes and gags. What's nice about the series is that while it generally writes towards a younger audience, it's never so simplistic that it alienates the older crowd. The chemistry between the five leads is great, and there are occasional moments of lunacy that will make you wonder if the staff is secretly taking anything in the back room (ie the Mad Mod episode). Plus season 1's underlying subplot involving Slade (voiced expertly by Ron 'Hellboy' Perlman) is as dark and driven as anything in the Batman shows. The only time this show falls flat for me is when it puts stylized action over story essentials, which some of the early episodes here fall into.

Again, this set collects...
