Review :
An unprecedented next step of "Girly" cartoons.
Any child of the 80s or even the 90s, could tell you that My Little Pony was a cartoon show originally created to sell pony toys to little girls, much in the same way Transformers was a show created to sell toy robots to little boys. Typically you would not think much of either series, you'd look down you nose at them, and assume they were just shallow 22 minute toy commercials. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, defies all expectation. It provides surprisingly well developed characters, each of whom have flaws they have to deal with, and plots that teach genuine and worthwhile life lessons, that has been sorely lacking from most children's television since Hey Arnold ended. The best part is that never once does the show look down upon its intended audience of young girls, it assumes they are intelligent, and alert enough to digest and understand the more meaningful things going on, and the show is all the better off for it.

Now for its unintended of audience of young...
An actual product review of this set
I'm not going to waste time talking about the show. If you want to know what it's about, read any of the other 80+ reviews lavishing praise on the series, or, better yet, record a few episodes from the Hub on your DVR or Tivo. I'm going to discuss the stuff people reading these reviews actually care about: picture/sound quality, packaging, and extras.

Picture/Sound Quality = This set looks as good as any of the other MLP:FiM DVDs released by Shout! Factory. Really, this show can only look so good on DVD. The picture quality is great for a Flash-animated show on DVD, but it won't look great if you're used to the 1080p iTunes releases of the episodes.

Packaging = This set contains four DVDs in one case. Each disc is well-protected and easy to access. The art on the front and back of the case is pretty good. I'm less thrilled with the illustrations on the third and fourth discs (third disc has an illustration of Princess Cadance, a character not introduced until the...
This item is a must-buy for bronies.
It doesn't matter if you'd rather have Blu-ray. Good sales of this will lead to Blu-ray. It doesn't matter if you have access to Netflix streaming or iTunes or YouTube for the episodes. They don't have audio commentary. Find the money for this and support the official release!

Update (11/27/12): According to Seth's review of this DVD on Equestria Daily, the commentaries on this disc are amazing. I share his sentiment even now, and I can confirm my agreement with him after I receive the DVD.

Update (12/13/12): I received my DVD days ago, but I just wanted to confirm that this is a great 4-disc DVD set. The commentaries are especially interesting, although the only new voice credit information that we learned that wasn't already known was that Tabitha St. Germain voiced the stallion who screams in "The Best Night Ever" after Rainbow Dash knocks and catches him.

This specific thing delivers surpass own prospect, that one has turned into a fantastic upgrade on personally, The concept showed up safely along with quickly Strange Magic

STRANGE MAGIC is a music-filled fairy tale about finding true love in the unlikeliest of places. This magical adventure features a host of colorful characters, including a princess who has sworn off love, a dubious villain, a slightly nutty Sugar Plum Fairy, a tenacious elf, a mischievous imp, and a knight who is no Prince Charming. Bring home the enchanting tale the whole family can enjoy today!

Review :
LOVE IS STRANGE
Not since "Heavy Metal" have I so fell in love with the soundtrack of a film. This is a musical romance, but not one that makes you go "ugh." Mary Ann and Dawn are princess fairies. Mary Ann breaks up with the cheating Roland on her wedding day. Dawn is boy crazy. Sunny, the elf loves Dawn, who sees him as a friend. Shallow Roland still wants Mary Ann as a way to get the crown.

Now next to the Fairy Kingdom is the Dark Kingdom ruled by King Bog who bans love and has the Sugar Plum Fairy locked up for reasons that reveal themselves in the end. A love potion is made and gets out of hand involving us in delightful musical arrangements.

Songs included:

I'll Never Fall in Love Again
I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)
C'mon Marianne
Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)
Love Is Strange
Rifts from "People are Strange"
I Can't Help Myself
Straight On (Heart)
Strange Magic
Wild Thing...
GOT TO SEE TO BELIEVE HOW GREAT THIS MOVIE IS!!
Love this movie...but the DVD price is a little steep!

To best watch this film...think like a kid. Now shrink yourself to pixie size...
Are you there yet?
Okay, now imagine a colorful happy world...your sooooo in love...you flutter to your fiance who is a moth but you don't care...your in love with him...
Next you meet up with him and...see the film ;-)
I have seen this movie numberous times. I wanted to be a Disney animator (that fell short) but I am in love with cartoons etc... This movie is by far BEAUTIFUL in color and graphics!! It is not like your typical "hero saves woman in distress" type of Disney movie and Marianne (the blue morph butterfly fairy) is NOT your typical "I will wait for someone to help me to get the job done" princess. Awesome Awesome movie and I can't wait to own it on DVD!! (Blu Ray if they have some good directors commentary)...

The music is sung by the actual voice actors (NOT just Kelly Clarkson...
Unusual Enchantmant
I unintentionally found out about the release of Strange Magic from Yahoo News. Strange Magic is an uplifting animation tune that also doubles as a musical. Of course, Strange Magic ties into multiple characters that reside in the Bog kingdom and those in attendance at the Offspring Ball. However, the plot is definitely turned upside down when one of the characters collects a love potion for another suitor. The energy from the love potion ends up affecting various characters in different ways. There are musical features from popular songs featured in Strange Magic that are inspired by some of the multiple groups/musicians in Strange Magic such as the People Are Strange theme from The Lost Boys movie, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You by UB40, Stronger by Kelly Clarkson, I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas, The Love Is Strange Theme From The Dirty Dancing Movie, Strange Magic song (a variant version of this song was also...

DVD Details For An Impressive Set That Advocates Active Learning And Parental Involvement
For four fact filled seasons from 1994 to 1998, "The Magic School Bus" paved the way for kids to believe that science was cool. As the television landscape continues to devolve, it's refreshing to see the Bus resurface in this Complete Series collection. Charming and educational, this animated delight is comprised of 52 thirty minute episodes. Ms. Frizzle (voiced by the distinctive and invaluable Lily Tomlin) takes her class of enthusiastic students on trips filled with fantasy and wonder. Astronomy, biology, geology, physics, chemistry, paleontology, and just about every other "ology" gets a visit or two through the course of the various field trips. However, if you're shopping "The Magic School Bus: The Complete Series," you probably want to know what is included with your investment.

Packaging: The box set looks great. The cover is done in a 3-D lenticular design that already ups the cool quotient. Each of the eight DVDs is enclosed in its own case within the set...
rare and wonderful - I LOVE THEM ALL
Suitable for ages 3+ these animated adventures combine entertainment with education to help kids "learn about science in a fun way". Each episode is a half-hour long. Only 54 were made in the mid-1990s, with no plans to make any more, unfortunately, as they are wonderful. I LOVE THEM ALL.

Joyful and uplifting, The Magic School Bus children's cartoon series is rare because it is one of the few completely free from violence and brutality. (Studies have found that youngsters tend to mimic "fantasy" negative behavior seen on TV - which anyone with some common sense knows - so why is there so much, and for decades? Especially since, as other research shows, children actually prefer non-violent entertainment.)

Recently I sent a relative the full set of 54 for her grandchild (aged 4, whom she was looking after while her daughter had to be away on mid-wifery training) and was told "She has watched and watched the Magic School Bus over and over, all of them"...
Wahoo!
"Magic School Bus" was a major part of my TV-watching experience when I was a child. So honestly, watching the series today is a trip down memory lane -- and despite some scientific changes (such as computer advances or Pluto being exiled), "Magic School Bus: The Complete Series" still stands as a good, educational show for kids.

The story series around Ms. Valerie Frizzle (Lily Tomlin), an eccentric elementary-school teacher who dresses according to the episode's theme. She has a sentient lizard named Liz, and a school bus that can transform into whatever the episode requires.

She has a class of about eight students, who never seem to have math class or anything that requires them to actually stay in the building. Instead, Ms. Frizzle takes them on daily field trips, which the shape-shifting/time-traveling/shrinking bus allows them to do... in a very hands-on manner.

So the class goes on adventures in the digestive system, the bloodstream, a pickle...
