Funny, Over-The-Top Horror
I've always gotten a kick out of this movie. The story line is original (or at least it seems so to me). The gore is startling in a couple of scenes but isn't overpowering. The acting is outrageously over the top but also is endearing.

Thirteen-year-old Fool (Brandon Ames) finds himself in a large suburban house owned by the two slum lords who are about to evict his sick mother and others from a ghetto tenement. He's in the house because he agreed to help two burglars make a score on treasure they heard was hidden there. Unfortunately for Fool (and his two grown-up accomplices), the owners are a brother and sister who call each other Mommy and Daddy. The man (Everett McGill) is a homicidal maniac who goes in for head-to-toe, studded, black leather bondage suits and pump action, single barrel shotguns. His sister (Wendy Robie) is just as looney and just as murderous, a screaming dominatrix. They also have a large vicious dog you wouldn't want to hand feed...that is, unless...

This movie you are looking at is MOST CERTAINLY NOT your typical horror or slasher film. It is a mix of real horrors,dark comedy,and fairytale.
When I got this movie my expectations were very high, and I was glad they weren't let down. I expected alot from this movie, I had heard it was VERY scary, and I'm into horror movies VERY MUCH!!! The bad reviews on here, don't listen to them, see the movie yourself!!!
So Adam is a boy with his family living in some rundown tennant houses, his momma's dying of cancer. Well the kid hears about a treasure, locked up in the bottom of the basement of the house. The sad thing is no one ever comes out of this house alive, and unfortenately for him its not just a myth its the truth!!! Getting in may be a pain, but getting out is 10x's the fun!!! "Hear no evil,speak no evil,and see no evil" is a saying of the mother. Which holds to secret of the basement inhabitants.
There is a girl hidden upstairs though, and is violently...

An earlier review I read of this movie seems to be horribly off. It mentions that it follows a horror-movie cliche where the cops are offered food and then give up the search.

However, this reviewer is dead wrong on several accounts. One, they are not policemen at all, but rather are child services. Two, the horror movie cliche would be having the policemen not believe the little boy crying wolf. Three, instead of following cliches, this movie instead turns around and breaks all of the cliches.

Instead of being afraid, only being able to scream, and seemingly always frozen in place, Fool instead doesn't ever really scream, either runs away or TURNS AROUND, FED UP, AND ATTACKS THE VILLAINS HIMSELF. At one point, he turns around, says "I'm through running" and tackles a man-eating dog that is bigger than him.

Is a character who isn't afraid of the villains, a character who fights back, a cliche? No.

Don't hold your breath!!!!
As many of the reviewers have already said, why won't Sony release any further seasons of Hart to Hart?

I'll tell you why. It's because the DVD industry is now run by 20-30 year olds who seem to think that: (1) nobody over the age of 35 exists; (2) anyone who IS over the age of 35 can't work a DVD player; (3) why would anyone be interested in anything made prior to the year 2000?; (4) why would anyone watch a series with no preening blonde 20 something who spends every episode worrying about whether the hero will still fancy her by the time credits roll; (5) why are there no zombies/vampires/CGI in at least one episode of the run?; (6) why should a series with the main stars being over the age of 30 have any appeal to anyone? (7) the only reason anyone would want to buy a dusty old 1980s series on dvd is if someone's about to mount a remake film or tv series so that anyone under the age of 30 where the Harts would most likely be 20-something lottery-millionaire/X Factor...
Season 3 has some great eps!

"Hart of Darkness", "Blue and Broken Hearted and "Harts Under Glass" being 3 of my favorites. The show really hit its stride in season 3, showcasing the romantic, comedic and dramatic talents of its stars Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers.

Hopefully the release date is not far off!

Hope it's true, I have been waiting for the release of the last 3 seasons for some time now. I just love the Harts.
I was a teenager when the show first aired, I have fond memories of watching the show with my family.
I missed the last two seasons when they first aired, so I am hoping that they are released as well. I looked on the Sony website to contact someone about Hart to Hart but they have no contact info, I guess we are at Sony's

I am sadden by the fact that this season is not available yet. However,I saw the first episode of the 5th season when it aired for the first time decades ago and I loved it. It was absolutely amazing! Murder, mystery, and love, that's a combination that is j-u-s-t right! I knew early in the episode I would be a loyal viewer of the show. There aren't too many men who love their wife the way Jonathan showed his love for Jennifer. Of course you can't forget Max and freeway as they added a little comedy to the show! It's funny how this is the first episode of the 5th season, yet it is the episode when Jonathan met Jennifer and how it all began. I look forward to purchasing the entire collection when or as it becomes available!

HEARTACHE IS OVER.....

With the release of the final season we get the whole series on dvd.
the 8 post tv movies had already released so start watching from the beginning to the end when the final season is released next summer...

MGM jumped on the DVD bandwagon rather late in the game, and the studio has been struggling to keep up ever since. Traditionally, MGM has released bare-bones, movie-only DVDs with bad transfers and horrid sound - but, thankfully, tradition seems to be losing out to what consumers want. Mad Max: Special Edition is the latest offering from MGM's film vaults to make its way onto DVD in a restored, high-performance disc, and it's about time, too.
Mad Max will probably go down in history as the film that made Mel Gibson a star, but that would gloss over the film's many other virtues. A post-apocalyptic tale of good vs. evil, Mad Max features the title character, Max Rockatansky, in his job as an "Interceptor," a kind of cop struggling to maintain order in a world where the government has all but collapsed and ruthless biker thugs and warlords have made normal life impossible. When Max kills a member of the gang, their leader, the Toecutter, turns around and butcher's Max's family...
Needs To Be Re-released With The Aussie Soundtrack
Before I wrote a review for this film I had to get my hands on a version with the original Aussie dialogue to see if it truly mattered. Well the answer is, yes it does. Other reviewers are correct when saying the dubbed version (in American English) makes the actors come off campy and it hurts the film a great deal. And yes, dialogue is even changed slightly, some more than others, like when the one kid and his girlfriend leave town in his hotrod with the biker gang hot on their trail. In the American version he says "Don't worry" to his girlfriend, but in the Aussie version he says "No worries". I don't really think a dubbed English version was necessary. I could understand what they were saying even with the Australian accents. I mean imagine network TV dubbing Crocodile Hunter every week with an American accent...BAD IDEA! Now that the DVD is out of print (because ORION Pictures is out of business) let's hope Warner Brothers obtains the rights to this...
A decent BD release, but room for improvement
I've been a fan of "Mad Max" since seeing it in the theater in 1980, and I pre-ordered this Blu-ray as soon as it was announced. The movie itself has been reviewed extensively elsewhere, so my review will cover, briefly, the Blu-ray disc only. I played it on a JVC XVBP11 Blu-ray Player and watched it on a Panasonic TC-L32X2 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV and, more recently, on a Panasonic VIERA TC-P42S30 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.

720p Comments:

Overall it looks very dark. They didn't digitally correct any of the color errors (that is, spots in the movie where the film has color damage--it's really obvious after Max drags himself back to the car). The color is richer than on the DVD; skin tones look accurate, but the clouds look pinkish. And it's grainy, but...

Any child of the 80s or even the 90s, could tell you that My Little Pony was a cartoon show originally created to sell pony toys to little girls, much in the same way Transformers was a show created to sell toy robots to little boys. Typically you would not think much of either series, you'd look down you nose at them, and assume they were just shallow 22 minute toy commercials. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, defies all expectation. It provides surprisingly well developed characters, each of whom have flaws they have to deal with, and plots that teach genuine and worthwhile life lessons, that has been sorely lacking from most children's television since Hey Arnold ended. The best part is that never once does the show look down upon its intended audience of young girls, it assumes they are intelligent, and alert enough to digest and understand the more meaningful things going on, and the show is all the better off for it.

I'm not going to waste time talking about the show. If you want to know what it's about, read any of the other 80+ reviews lavishing praise on the series, or, better yet, record a few episodes from the Hub on your DVR or Tivo. I'm going to discuss the stuff people reading these reviews actually care about: picture/sound quality, packaging, and extras.

Picture/Sound Quality = This set looks as good as any of the other MLP:FiM DVDs released by Shout! Factory. Really, this show can only look so good on DVD. The picture quality is great for a Flash-animated show on DVD, but it won't look great if you're used to the 1080p iTunes releases of the episodes.

Packaging = This set contains four DVDs in one case. Each disc is well-protected and easy to access. The art on the front and back of the case is pretty good. I'm less thrilled with the illustrations on the third and fourth discs (third disc has an illustration of Princess Cadance, a character not introduced until the...
This item is a must-buy for bronies.

It doesn't matter if you'd rather have Blu-ray. Good sales of this will lead to Blu-ray. It doesn't matter if you have access to Netflix streaming or iTunes or YouTube for the episodes. They don't have audio commentary. Find the money for this and support the official release!

Update (11/27/12): According to Seth's review of this DVD on Equestria Daily, the commentaries on this disc are amazing. I share his sentiment even now, and I can confirm my agreement with him after I receive the DVD.

Update (12/13/12): I received my DVD days ago, but I just wanted to confirm that this is a great 4-disc DVD set. The commentaries are especially interesting, although the only new voice credit information that we learned that wasn't already known was that Tabitha St. Germain voiced the stallion who screams in "The Best Night Ever" after Rainbow Dash knocks and catches him.

If you loved the first two MLP Equetria girls movies, I bet you are going to love the new My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Game :) I heard it still has all the favorite ponies like Princess Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Sunset shimmer . :) The down side is that the movie won't be out until Oct 13th close to Halloween! But you can pre-order the movie now from Amazon. One of the best Sentai shows to date in my opinion

While I'm not impressed with the package design, I have seen the series itself years ago....my interest in it stemming from the second season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers....and I absolutely loved it, especially in mid-series where they introduced the dark karate killer Jin and the dragon deity that was used in MMPR as "Serpenterra", though in DaiRanger it came to Earth to annihilate it if hostilities between the Daos and Gorma camps didn't cease.

My thoughts on official Super Sentai releases in North America: personally, I wish that some of the Showa-era shows would be considered for distribution, especially Himitsu Sentai GoRanger.

Gosei Sentai Dairanger, I've heard, is a good Sentai season. Being the source footage they used in MMPR season 2, where they took the mech & white ranger footage & repurposed them for MMPR. Now, this DVD won't have special features, which I'm fine with. Zyuranger only had that 1 special feature because Power Morphicon was last year. They could've tried to port over some of the special features from the Japanese DVD releases, but that might've driven up the price of the thing even further, so I'm fine with it. Hopefully they'll get the movie out eventually. I'm not expecting the set up to be much different than the Zyuranger release, 50 episodes, 10 discs, subtitles, all that stuff. It's looking good for this release.

Definitely Going to try getting for a Christmas present!

I want to try Super Sentai,Now that it's legal in America for the Post-Zyu sets,So I have already asked for "Zyuranger" for my Birthday,And my friend will be willing to get into the Japanese Tokusatsu action with me! I have been a massive fan from HART TO HART as little as I remember...Wasn't even 10 years old when my mum will watch with me in France every sunday afternoon this amazing TV SERIES!!
I of course do have for ages SEASON 1 AND 2: which I watched many, many times and just loved it!!
After 8 years waiting for the release of SEASON 3(thank you shout factory by the way!), I got to be honest I didn't enjoy as much SEASON 3 , only really love 4 episodes(the 1 in the train being my favourite) so my expectation was not that high for SEASON 4 but how wrong was I??!!
Just love it as much as SEASON 1 AND SEASON 2!!
The chemistry between Stephanie And Robert is just amazing!! When I was young and before having the internet, I thought they were a real life couple!!!
Buy SEASON 4, you will love it!! Not a weak episode like SEASON 3 ...Only took me 3 days to watch all 22 episodes...and I love it...Freeway and Max make the show even better when they are into the story....I...
ONE SEASON LEFT.....

With the release of the 4rth season there is only one season remain to complete our dvd collection as all the post tv movies are available for months now (video demand)
So season 5 eventual release will complete our collection.

Hart To Hart Season 4

Very good series. Nice to see that nearly all the seasons are finally being released. One more season to go for the 5th & final one. All 8 movies have already been released also. The only thing I've noticed so far with Season 4 is that the stories are not all as impressive as in the first 3 seasons, but this is still a must buy for the Harts collector series: Stephanie Powers & Bob Wagner always shine together & always pull off an episode even if the script was weak, & I have not seen all of the episodes yet- just about 6 of them. Always a lot of fun. You won't get this great type of home entertainment made new today. I've considered this money worth spent & I'am eagerly awaiting Season 5.
