Delivering the Good Stuff....
"Criminal Minds" returned for its seventh season in 2011-2012, with a fresh set of disturbing and violent crimes to be solved by the FBI's elite Bahavorial Analysis Unit (BAU) and its ecclectic collection of agents. A highlight of the season was the return of profiler Emily Prentiss "from the dead", with emotional ramifications for the whole team.

The show continues to thrive on its crime-of-the-week format, as the BAU races the clock to identify and stop a violent killer or killers while saving victims. Clever plots continue to take unusual twists and turns. As in past seasons, the spotlight shifts from episode to episode among the actors in an outstanding ensemble cast, giving each a chance to lead on a case. This season has featured increased insight into the personal lives of the characters. One member of the team gets a girlfriend, another gets a marriage proposal, a third is haunted by an old case, and a fourth decides to leave the BAU. A senior supervisor goes...
This review is just for what Special Features are of this Season 7 set...
I won't go into depth of why I like this show and the synopsis of the episodes, but this review is just for the special features of the Season 7 DVD. And I'm not sure about Season 6 or the Season 5 DVD, but I know Season 7 does have subtitles. Oddly enough, it doesn't have closed captioning. While I was going through the DVDs to find the exact special features I was starting to get let down by the lack of commentaries showing up. I was hoping it wasn't a typo, but we do get two episodes with commentary. Weirdly, "It Takes a Village" and "Hit/Run" I sure would have gotten a commentary, but alas, no. And I do wanna say that most (if not, all) of the special features of subtitled, too. Which, is always a plus. Good job, CBS DVD!

Disc 1:
1- It Takes a Village
2- Proof
3- Dorado Falls
4- Painless (Minds' Eye: Implosion - 5:18 explanation of episode)

Disc 2:
5- From Childhood's Hour (Minds' Eye: The Fall - 3:55 explanation of episode) /...
This show gets better every season!!!!
I love this show. It's just something about it, which keeps me tuning in every Wednesday night for a brand new episode. Due to the subject at hand it's NOT the show for everybody, but if you are a fan of psychological thriller's this is the show for you.

"Criminal Minds" will challenge your mind every episode. It shows what it is like to get into the mind of serial killers, and with every episode we get drama, mystery, and action. These cases are twisted and eerie, and most of the time what you think is going happen, doesn't. Every show literally has me on the edge of my seat.

Pros: 1.The writing is superb
2. Every character is well defined
3. Great acting
4. Compelling cases

Cons: 1.There is none really, unless you count the season ending cliffhanger.

I won't be giving away any spoilers for those who haven't seen it, but "criminal minds" isn't like any other show on television. I highly recommend it, you will not be...

Criminal Minds revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again. The Behavioral Analysis Unit's most prominent agent is David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), a founding member of the BAU, who returns to help the team solve new cases, while pursuing some unfinished business of his own. Each member brings his or her own area of expertise to the table as they pinpoint predators' motivations and identify their emotional triggers in the attempt to stop them. "Find the fetish, find the fiend." This is the queasily compelling Criminal Minds' version of "Save the cheerleader, save the world," and it drives each dark and disturbing episode. Before this pivotal season can really get down to cases, it must deal with some unfinished business. Mandy Patinkin, who announced he would be leaving the series, was given a graceful exit, but not before his character, ace FBI profiler Gideon begins to doubt his abilities and sanity in the aftermath of the murder of his girlfriend at the end of last season. Meanwhile, his protégé, Hotch (Thomas Gibson) is under pressure from Section Chief Erin Strauss (Jayne Atkinson) to resign the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), and Prentiss (Paget Brewster) submits her resignation rather than get dirt on him for Erin. All it takes to keep the team intact is for Strauss to join them at work on a particularly disturbing case involving a man using his son to lure unsuspecting women ("He's going to kill you, you know"). And speaking of unfinished business, enter Gideon's replacement, David Rossi (Joe Mantegna, an inspired choice), a BAU legend who returns to the unit he helped found. He claims he just wants to help with the BAU "an agent down," but his true motivation will become clear as the season unfolds Suffice to say it involves an extremely cold case that continues to haunt him. Rossi's introduction is the accessible entry for viewers new to the series, as they, along with Rossi, get to meet the other team members, including hunky Derek (Shemar Moore), bookish genius Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), and colorful computer whiz Penelope Garcia (Kristen Vangsness). This season, the team is confronted with nightmarish cases, involving all manner of killers (including one cannibal). Working together to catch these "unsubs" before they can claim another victim offers further opportunities for what Rossi calls "personal growth." In a two-part episode, Shemar must confront his crisis of faith. In another episode, Reid attends a support group for his addiction (another development from last season). Two cases hit particularly close to home. In one, a team member is shot, and in the explosive season finale, another is targeted by terrorists. Considering Criminal Minds's intensity level, even the bonus gag reel, comprised of pratfalls, tension-breaking clowning, and even a birthday cake break for Mantegna, can be unsettling! There is something to be said for having a week to unwind between new episodes. A Criminal Minds marathon can seriously creep you out. And we mean that in a good way. --Donald Liebenson

Review :
season three...better than ever
i have to say i was leery about season three when i heard mandy patinkin was leaving. but my fears were for nothing. season three is probably my favorite yet. it has many strong episodes, tries new things (true night, one of my favorites) and gives us a peek into garcia's life in several riveting episodes.

i don't care about rossi the way i cared about gideon, but he's a good character and i'm glad he's not a carbon copy of jason. the team works together very well and season three shows that cm is more of an ensemble show now...which i very much enjoy.

as usual, cm has excellent supporting actors in every episode, riveting story lines, and makes fantastic use of background music choices. i can't wait to buy season three, and i'm looking forward to season 4. season three is especially worthwhile to see how much doctor spencer reid has changed and grown from season one. highly recommended.

imo, the best season 3 eps are:

in birth and...
They keep you wanting for more!
I enjoyed very much the first two seasons. But when I read that Mandy Patinkin had left the show I was disappointed and thought that was the end of Criminal Minds. I was so wrong! And don't get me wrong, he was a great asset being the character they most turned to for advise in all areas of the psyque. Joe Mantegna is more likable -sorry Mandy- and though he was brought to the show almost abruptly, they show you how he adapts gradually to everybody and the new way things are done at the BAU since he had been part of it when it began. Throughout the season, Joe Mantegna integrates the team like a piece of a puzzle that didn't quite fit was removed and placed by the perfect one, and now I see that the show will not only survive it's leading character but will do better with the new one.

Now, the plot. Unfortunately, there are so many sick in this world that they will never run out of new ideas for a show. Every episode is good, has new twists, and some episodes are even...
Another cracking season
Another cracking season of criminal minds, brilliant program.
Only 1 small criticism. The review on the website (and to be, fair the back of the dvd) state this dvd has English subtitles. I find sometimes the characters say things quickly or quietly and you miss important bits and have to repeatedly rewind. Don't be fooled. There are no subtitles on this dvd!!
Anyway, other than that, this season is excellent, with some interesting twists on the bad guys. Well worth the money.

Review :
My favorite television show...until this season
HATED to give Criminal Minds anything but a 5 star review. I have loved this show from the very first episode. The casting on this show has always been top notch, especially since it's been a bit of a revolving door. I don't know if Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss) decided to leave the show or if they made a serious blunder by getting rid of her...much as they did when they didn't renew J.J.'s contract, but the show REALLY took a turn for the worse this year. They could have saved it with some great casting, but I seriously DO NOT like the Jeanne Tripplehorn character!! Maybe a decent actress could have done a better job, but I doubt it. She does not fit in with the group, could not be more boring to watch and whenever she's on I tend to zone out and have actually walked away from TV when she's on. This is something I have never done in the previous 7 seasons, I am usually on the edge of my seat through each episode. I love this show so much and hate that they are starting...
Great series!
Love this show! Been watching it since its inception! :) Would recommend to anyone to watch it! They won't be sorry

Criminal Minds is the best, especially instantly from Amazon!
This was a great episode, I almost didn't recognize Kim Wayans or McKenzie Phillips, they were great. However I miss Emily, The new girl is good, but she's not Emily Prentiss, I love the show because they have strong women that don't have to show skin to get notice or play super cop women, they seem real. I was happy that they brought JJ back. I like agent Hotchter.

Criminal Minds revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again. Each member brings his or her own area of expertise to the table as they pinpoint predators' motivations and identify their emotional triggers in the attempt to stop them.If watching a season of Criminal Minds simply makes you just want to watch more, that is a sign of success. Season six is a strong one that focuses on the BAU team's secrets. Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) has a story arc that is the highlight and gives you some of her international-spy back story, as well as a new secret for J.J. (A.J. Cook) and Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) to share. Episodes that focus on Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) are always the bright spot of Criminal Minds, and it's hard not to wish that his secret weren't explored more in depth, but perhaps the creators are leaving that arc for season seven. We also get the introduction of a new character, Ashley Seaver (Rachel Nichols), whose father just happens to be a serial killer. David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) is a bit in the background for season six, but maybe it's because he's been at the center of previous seasons. Shemar Moore's Derek Morgan is always nice to look at, but remains the least interesting character in the cast--even his "secret" isn't very compelling--though it is always good to see him interacting with Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), who has an appropriately lighthearted secret of her own. Overall, this is a strong season--and even if you're not a longtime fan, it's an easy show to just jump into. Extras include deleted scenes and some fun behind-the-scenes looks at the Paget Brewster arc, the season as a whole, and how various crime scenes are created. You may think your next-door neighbor is a serial killer after watching a whole season, but that's just a delightful side effect of Criminal Minds. --Paige Newman

Review :
Casting changes created havoc
First of all, I love this show. I've never missed an episode and re-watch all five previous seasons on a regular basis. That being said, season 6 was a bit lackluster. This is due to the major casting changes that took place during the summer. Both AJ Cook and Paget Brewster's contracts were cut, and during season 6 both were written off the show. While the writing in those episodes were top notch, the rest of the season left a bitter taste in your mouth. After episode 2 (appropriately titled JJ), JJ's absense left a gaping hole in the fabric of the BAU. It was almost as if the heart of the show had been ripped away, leaving writers, cast and fans scrambling. Just when we began to settle into the new JJ-less reality, in comes Agent Seaver, played by Rachel Nichols. This was a horrific decision. This is nothing against Ms. Nichols, who did the best she could with what she was given. However, fan response was not positive, as Ms. Nichols bears a striking resemblance to AJ Cook, who we...
Ever Better
CRIMINAL MINDS grows and grows and this season is an exceptional one. While if continues to bring us smart television, the secondary subplots that continue through this season, plot that focus on the lead actors and their private lives or personal involvement with some of the created characters takes a major role in this season. While some may find this a bit disconcerting - as though emphasis on the diagnosis and capture of the criminal minds disconnects the viewer form the point of direction of the story. But at least for this viewer these subplots make us identify more with the agony of coping with the types of criminals these people must deal with every day. The dialogue may at some points seem like a roundtable dissertation on aspects of abnormal psychology, passing from one character actor in the investigative team to the next, but the information they disclose in these sessions is fascinating and makes sense to the viewer. Each segment begins with a significant quote and each...
Changes...
In its sixth season, "Criminal Minds" continues to be an outstanding police procedural about the agents of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. The show offers intense weekly drama as the agents track various serial killers and kidnappers.

A strength of the show is its superb ensemble cast, featuring Thomas Gibson as team leader Aaron Hotchner, Joe Montegna as veteran Special Agent David Rossi, Paget Brewster as Special Agent Emily Prentiss, Matthew Gray Gubler as Dr. Spencer Reid, Shemar Moore as Special Agent Derek Morgan, A.J. Cook as Special Agent JJ Jareau, and Kirsten Vangness as computer whiz Penelope Garcia.

This season brought cast changes. JJ Jareau was involutarily reassigned from the BAU at the beginning of the season, then helped out in a mid-season case involving Emily Prentiss. Her brief appearence in the season finale suggests she will return. Rachel Nichols joined the cast as young Ashley Seaver, a new agent plucked from the FBI Academy for...

This kind of obcject delivers exceeded the prospect, this place has developed into a fantastic replace on me personally, The concept appeared safely and also rapidly Criminal Minds: Season 1

Criminal Minds revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again.Viewers who feel they may have been C.S.I.'d, S.V.U.'d, or NCIS'd to death, should really keep an open mind concerning Criminal Minds, because this compelling procedural crime series brings fascinating new facets to this crowded genre. The always galvanizing Mandy Patinkin (Chicago Hope) makes a welcome return to the small screen as Jason Gideon, head of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, and sage mentor to his elite team of profilers, including compassionate Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson, of Dharma & Greg), Lola Gladini as sex-crimes expert Elle Greenway (since departed from the series), live-wire hunk Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), and genius-geek Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), who actually looks creepier than many of the perpetrators that the team races against time to apprehend. Before they can do that, they must establish psychological profiles of the criminals and think as they do. Given they have handles such as the "Seattle Strangler" and the "Keystone Killer," this can be psychologically taxing (in one episode, Spencer confides to Derek that the job is giving him nightmares). While cliffhangers frame this inaugural season, each episode (except the season finale) wraps up its cases in the allotted hour.

In addition to serial killers, the series unleashes a gallery of twisted and depraved specimens. "Trust me," Derek comments early on, "we cover the whole spectrum of psychos." This includes arsonists, rapists, child abductors, and even a cannibalistic killer. Anchoring the proceedings is Patinkin, who exudes authoritative gravitas, and who is always good for scenery feasting. He really comes to life when killers have Gideon at gunpoint and he taunts them into losing their already unsteady grip. Most episodes feature the voiceover of a team member reciting a pertinent quote from such varied sources as W.H. Auden ("Evil is always human") to actor Peter Ustinov, a literary conceit that could stand to be retired. Stylistic flourishes in the editing and camerawork are likewise more of a distraction when the cases themselves are so gripping, given that the victims are primarily women and children. "There's nothing I would rather do than put the bastards away," Greenway states at one point. And there's nothing we'd rather do than watch them do it, which has made Criminal Minds, initially Lost opposite that ratings juggernaut, one of television's solid hits. --Donald Liebenson

Pure gold!
There are a handful of very very popular topics around TV shows... medical dramas, sci-fi dramas and police/criminal dramas. "Criminal Minds" stands out in this last category. The cast is wonerful. Stating with Many Patinkin, whom is always a pleasure to watch, as Jason Gideon, the head of the team. Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner, the very handsome Shemar Moore as Derek Morgan and Matthew Grey Gubler as the always geeky and know-it-all Dr. Spencer Reid. Of course the team includes the sexy-smart female side, in which we have Lola Glaudini as Ellen Greenaway, AJ Cook as Jennifer JJ Jareau and the super tech savvy Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia.

The purpose of this FBI team is to solve cases of all natures... missing people, homicides, psychopaths, sociopaths, pedofiles, etc.. but from a common perspective. They are criminal profilers and as the evidence gathers and their knowledge converges the profile os the UNSUB (unknown subject) leads them, hopefully to a...
Can't Wait For Season 2 To Be On DVD!!!!
Season 1 is truly addictive! The only circumstance that stopped me from

watching the entire Season 1 at once was that I had to eat! The story

lines are fantastic! The acting is so real that one forgets that the viewer is watching it on your TV! Buy it! Watch it! But one word of caution! Have a protable frig next to you loaded with food so you don't have to move!

Pushing the TV envelope
Criminal Minds is different. It's not another CSI. Instead of examining forensic evidence after a crime has been committed, this group of agents uses behavioral analysis techniques to prevent serial crimes. Great cast headed by Mandy Patinkin and Thomas Gibson. The depiction of violent serial criminals is complex and disturbing. The crimes are presented in a dark, realistic manner that is unusual for television. Highly recommended.
