This kind of item Offer surpass own anticipation, this has developed into a amazing buy for myself personally, The thought arrived securely as well as swiftly I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story

For 45 years, Caroll Spinney has been beloved by generations of children as the man behind Sesame Street's Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch and at 80 years old, he has no intention of stopping. A loving portrait of the man in the yellow suit, I AM BIG BIRD features extraordinary footage of Spinney's earliest collaborations with Jim Henson as it traces his journey from bullied child to childhood icon. And as the yellow feathers give way to grey hair, it is the man, not the puppet, who will steal your heart.

Review :
Great to see the tribute, and the touching stories that Caroll rightfully deserves to be told, honoring him and his life.
This movie is everything you hope it will be. Very well executed, and delightfully narrated by Caroll and those who are close to him, and shared his career with on Sesame Street. A great man, whom I've had the pleasure to meet. He, and his wife Debra, are both very warm and sweet and that is conveyed to the viewer as the movie takes you through all aspects of his life intertwined within it's context. It would be unfair to call this a documentary as it is not exactly chronologically told, which makes for less anxiety to see behind the scenes, and more about his life as Big Bird and Oscar The Grouch. To Caroll & Debra; I wish you all the best in the years to come. To Caroll; thank you for everything. I hope we meet again, and to that day when I meet..... Awwwww Bird.

He's a Man and He's a Muppet
A fabulous documentary that pays homage to a great artist and puppeteer: Caroll Spinney, also known as Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. Excellently presented with scores of interviews, archival footage and even some animations sprinkled throughout. I will be using this in my puppetry workshops as another resource that presents all that is possible when you follow your artistic dreams.

The story of the man behind Big Bird and Oscar
I am a kickstarted backer of this movie and I am glad I am. This is a great story of a great performer. Anyone who grew up on Sesame Street should watch this movie. A great story. It is a little slow at times, but overall fantastic. Not only gives insight into Spinney but also into Jim Henson. The behind the scenes stories are fantastic. The second half of the mvovie is when it really got interesting for me.

No action star like Jackie Chan

No action star like Jackie Chan. Love this one with it's plot twists. He just proves he just doesn't do action comedy but drama as well. The wife loves it as well, had her in tears by the end of the film.

Jackie Chan back again...
Good action movie. Jackie Chan is showing his age now. Was a bit hard keeping up with the English subtitles as they flash by so fast but being a JC fan I tolerated it.

Film follows the character Zhong Wen (Chan) as he meets ...
Film follows the character Zhong Wen (Chan) as he meets up with his estranged daughter in a nightclub. Little does he know it is a trap where digging deep into his past is the only way to figure out how to save everyone.

This is the natural progression of how to do a Police Story film with an aged Jackie Chan. I found the dramatic aspects of the situation compelling but I found the way that story was told to be interesting, but took away from the momentum of the film itself. Kudos for trying something different though!

Though this film had its good points it's basically an imitation of a much better film by the Polish director Krzysztof Kieślowski. The Wikipedia entry says this film is an "adaptation" of Kieślowski's film titled A Short Film About Love. I'd call it more a copy, one cld even justifiably call it a rip off. If you want to see this story done much better in half the time look at the original. Kieślowski was an artist, an innovator and I felt rather offended that his name was no where in the credits of Koirala's version.

Review :
Weird, Warped, Wacky and oh so Wonderful
This is by far my favorite new show of 2011 (after Game of Thrones). In fact, it is one of my favorite shows period. The first episode confused me and will probably strike most people as flat out weird, but after the initial shock, you realize with each passing episode just how unique and compelling this show is.

American Horror story follows a family of three as they move into a new home called "Murder House" by the locals. Since the 1920's, people have been murdered in various ways and their spirits have stayed behind, trapped in the very place they died. In this case, the ghosts from all eras can take physical form as well as vanish in an instant. You slowly learn about the past of each spirit, which adds another element of depth.

The writing is always clever, twisted and surprising. I wouldn't call AHS scary (at least to me), but the music and visuals make for one of the creepiest viewing experiences I've ever had.

The cast is perfect in every way...
FINALLY a show to keep you on the edge of your seat!!
I was pretty OVER the crap on TV these days, with the limited few shows I like.. But then this came along. And I have something to look forward to on Wednesdays at 10. I haven't PLANNED to watch an episode of a TV show in AGES. It's about time!

It's also brilliantly done-- it's quirky, a little funny, definitely spooky, and make you jump at times-- Not to mention it's wicked sexy! One twist after another. Only four episodes in, and I'm HOOKED. Give me this show intravenously, I'm addicted to American Horror Story.

Fresh!
I've waited a long time for a show like American Horror Story. I think a lot of people have because it's so different from anything else on television. I would compare it's insanity to that of Nip/Tuck, which makes sense when you realize the same creators are behind it. The first episode will probably confuse most people, but stick with it. Each episode will answer questions from the previous ones and leave you with even more than the last. The cast is beyond superb. Jessica Lange as neighbor Constance is the homerun of the series for me. She plays that role with such conviction and is very deserving of the Emmy Award she won. The rest of the cast is top-notch as well, including Connie Britton (you may know her from Friday Night Lights) who's character is put through an emotional rollercoaster throughout the entire season.

This show plays off as creepy more than scary, but it works splendidly. American Horror Story is definitely out there. Sometimes you'll just scratch your...

Review :
This show is great. We've needed a good "horror" show on TV for awhile now.
Season two of the American Horror story anthology is shaping up to be a "wtf" thrill ride. Well, not an edge of your seat roller coaster ride where you pee your pants or barf in your own face, but more like a nervous passenger in the car while your recently immigrated relative drives on 405 with their new license. You might be thinking, well...that doesn't sound pleasant, but to people like me who like this crap, it is very enjoyable. It is nice for once to not know what the hell is going on in advance, what to expect from the characters, to rely on the same song sung by a different singer over and over and over again in television and movies gets old quick. It's usually always the same damn drivel recycled, and thankfully that is not the case with this show.

Having a show where boy meets girl is not the center of the plot is nice as well. I can't recall a series where there is more than one "bad guy" and added to that developed characters you get sympathy for, save for...
Watch this NOW!
One of the best shows I've ever seen! Not for the faint-of-heart but soooo addictive. Once you start watching, you will consume the whole series like popcorn. Great acting, great story, don't miss it!

most disturbing show I have ever watched!
AHS is, by far, the most disturbing show that has ever been aired on cable and the only show I watch religiously. Even though I spend half the time watching through my hands, I absolutely love it and can't get enough! Wickedly AMAZING!

Burn, Witch, Burn
American Horror Story was something very different when it debuted, and Season 1 succeeded in not only making an old-school horror tale work as a television series, it actually made a haunted house story that was creepy and utterly compelling. Both accomplishments were impressive. Other than the Walking Dead, when was the last time there's been a decent horror series that made it to season 2? And haunted houses... well, they've pretty much been demolished, and now reside in the pop culture scrapyard. The fact that they embraced the idea like they did, reinvigorating a tired sub-sub-genre with multi-generational narrative layering and out-of-left-field twists -- like the boy next door who turns out to be an undead school-shooter -- made the brilliance of the story even more impressive.

Asylum was arguably even better, but far darker. Watching it, I was continually amazed that the minds behind 'Glee' were responsible for the wonderfully twisted craziness that was unfolding:...
AHS knocks it out again with premiere episode. With all-star a list cast, can't wait for next episode
From the opening scene, Kathy Bates wows mean, gritty, gory depiction of Madame Delphine LaLaurie, as she tortures her slaves ":Because she can" , which takes you back to her Misery days, and gives another award-worthy disturbing, but amazing performance. Then on to Taissa Farmiga, brought back from season 1 as she discovers her power and gets swept off to special witch school in NOLA Hogwarts style. We have Jessica Lange as the Supreme witch, bringing her A-game again as an aging witch trying to gain back her youth, as she joins her daughter played by Sara Paulson (the potion creating witch), to "help" her at her special girls' school. We get a Mean Girls/Teen Witch snarkiness of young teenage witches meeting each other for the first time, with Emma Roberts, Gabare Sidibe (Award Nominee for Precious). Denis O'Hare as the strange mute butler. Also get brief glimpses in this episode of Evan Peters, Angela Bassett as our resident VooDoo Queen, and Francis Conroy. I think this...
American Horror Story Continues to Raise the Bar
American Horror Story: Coven premiered this week, and boy did it come back with a bang! If one thing was made clear by the opening episode, it's that this season will be continuing, and increasing, the series trend of "can they really show this on TV!?" Now if you like happy little fairy tales, then you might not find this show appealing. But if you like horror that's dark, and brutal, and at times sickening, then boy is this the show for you.

I love the set up for this season so far, and I'm happy to see so many of the cast that we love so much back again (although I'm still hoping to see Zachary Quinto and Dylan McDermott).

Now all this said, you can't judge the whole season by a single episode, so I'll be coming back once a week to edit and update this review as necessary as the season progresses.

I would especially encourage those who stream or torrent the episodes to buy the set, in order to support the series. Not that the show is hurting for...

Scream 2: Away at college, Sidney Prescott (Campbell) thought she’d finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her…until a copycat killer begins acting out a real-life sequel. Now, as history repeats itself, ambitious reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), deputy Dewey (David Arquette) and other Scream survivors find themselves trapped in a terrifyingly clever plotline where no one is safe – or beyond suspicion – in this “delicious, diabolical and fun” (Rolling Stone) sequel.

Scream 3: While Sidney Prescott (Campbell) lives in safely guarded seclusion, bodies begin dropping around the Hollywood set of "Stab 3," the latest movie based on the gruesome Woodsboro killings. The escalating terror finally brings Sidney out of hiding, drawing her and the other survivors once again into an insidious game of horror movie mayhem that’s a “suspenseful, clever and very entertaining” (NBC-TV) installment in the wildly popular Scream franchise.Scream
With the smash hit Scream, novice screenwriter Kevin Williamson and veteran horror director Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street) revived the moldering corpse of the teen horror picture, both creatively and commercially, by playfully acknowledging the exhausted clichés and then turning them inside out. Scream is a postmodern slasher movie, a horror film that cleverly deconstructs horror films, then reassembles the dead tissue, and (like Frankenstein's monster) creates new life. When a serial killer starts hacking up their fellow teens, the media-savvy youngsters of Scream realize that the smartest way of sticking around for the sequel is to avoid the terminal behaviors that inevitably doom supporting players in the movies. They've seen all the movies, and the rules of the genre are like second nature to them. One of the scariest/funniest setups features a kid watching John Carpenter's seminal Halloween on video. As Jamie Lee Curtis is shadowed by Michael Meyers and the kid on the couch yells at her to turn around, Craven reverses his camera and we see that the kid should be taking his own advice. The fresh-faced young cast (including Drew Barrymore, Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette) is fun to watch, and their tart dialogue is sprinkled with enough archly self-conscious pop-culture references to make Quentin Tarantino blush. --Jim Emerson

Scream 2
Fully aware of its status as the sequel to the surprise hit thriller of 1996, this lively follow-up trades freshness for familiarity, playing on our affection for returning characters while obeying--and then subverting--the "rules" of sequels. Once again, movie references are cleverly employed to draw us into the story, which takes place two years after the events of Scream, at a small Ohio college, where the Scream survivors reunite when another series of mysterious killings begins. Capitalizing on the guesswork involving a host of potential suspects, director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson have crafted a thriller that's more of a Scream clone than a genuinely inventive new story. But the shocks are just as effective, and escalating tension leads to a tautly staged climax that's simultaneously logical and giddily over the top. Background information for trivia buffs: to preserve the secrecy of plot twists, copies of the screenplay were heavily guarded during production and restricted to only the most crucial personnel. When an early draft was circulated on the Internet, screenwriter Kevin Williamson did rewrites, and subsequent drafts were printed with red ink on brown paper, eliminating the threat of photocopying. None of the cast members knew who the killer was until the final scenes were filmed! -- Jeff Shannon

Scream 3
When Randy the video geek rattles off the rules of surviving a horror movie in Wes Craven's Scream, he speaks for a generation of filmgoers who are all too aware of slasher movie clichés. Playfully scripted by Kevin Williamson with a self-aware wink and more than a few nods to its grandfathers (from Psycho to Halloween to the Friday the 13th dynasty), Scream skewers teen horror conventions with loving reverence while re-creating them in a modern, movie-savvy context. And so goes the series, which continues the satirical spoofing by tackling (what else?) sequels while sustaining its own self-contained mythology. Catty reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) turns grisly murders into lurid bestsellers, a cult of killer wannabes continues to hunt spunky psycho-survivor Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) for their 15 minutes of fame, and a cheesy movie series (Stab) develops within the movie series.

Scream remains the high point of the series--a fresh take on a genre long since collapsed into routine, but Scream 2 spoofs itself with witty humor ("Why would anyone want to do that? Sequels suck!" opines college film student Randy), and delights with more elaborate set pieces and all-new rules for surviving a horror movie sequel. The endangered veterans of the original film reunite one last time for Scream 3, which plays out on the movie set of Stab 3. (It's a trilogy within a trilogy!) With Williamson gone, replacement screenwriter Ehran Kruger tries to mine the formula one more time. It's a little tired by now, and pale imitations (Urban Legend, I Know What You Did Last Summer) have further drained the zeitgeist, but the film bubbles with bright humor, and director Craven is stylistically at the top of his game. As a trilogy, it remains both the most consistently entertaining and self-aware horror series ever made. --Sean Axmaker

Still Scary: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective / Scream: The Inside Story

As most horror devotees already know, the Scream franchise was fraught with production troubles from its inception through its fourth and apparently final entry, and the two documentaries included on the fourth disc of the Scream collector's set (both of which are feature length, which explains the confusion over the set's "5 Film" label) represent the first attempt to bring together a cohesive portrait of the series' behind-the-scenes history. Both Still Scary: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective, by ShockTilYouDrop.com editor Ryan Turek, and Scream: The Inside Story, which was produced for the Biography Channel by much of the same creative team behind the epic Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, cover the same ground, which is director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson's struggles with the MPAA, producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein, and a myriad of other outside forces throughout the series through interviews with many of the production principals, most notably stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Jamie Kennedy (Williamson and Courteney Cox are conspicuously absent from both projects). Still Scary offers the more comprehensive presentation, thanks largely to its inclusion of such less well-known players as Scream 3 scribe Ehren Kruger, who capably defends his much-maligned script, and offers welcome touches of visual and editorial style in its "quick cuts" segments, which present tidbits of info that, while not entirely germane to the documentary's main thrust, provide the sort of detail that dedicated fans of the series will love. The Inside Story delves deeply into pre-production issues, from Craven's reluctance to helm the series to the battle over Ghost Face's iconic mask and costume. In-depth discussions of the characters through dialogue readings by the original cast and screen tests, as well as split-screen comparisons between the original NC-17 edit and the R-rated theatrical cut, are equally invaluable. Though some viewers may argue with the documentaries' conceit that the Scream franchise reinvented the horror genre--reinvigorated is a more accurate description--the wealth of information presented in both films sets the bar for future horror documentaries. --Paul Gaita

Since Lions Gate has been mum on the details/specs of this set, never even issuing a press release containing any info., I thought I'd take this opportunity to answer many of the unanswered questions for those who have yet to order:

1. The 3 movies are the exact same blu-rays that were released separately. Right down to the now dated ads and trailers that you cannot skip past. Same extra features (not many), same picture, same everything -- outside of the discs themselves which are all that generic grey "rental" version looking disc with no individual artwork. There is, as expected, NO director's cut of the original film included.

Excellent Box Set!
When I review a movie, especially a box set, I base my review on the bonus material and quality of the set in general. I think most people who buy movies from Amazon have usually seen the movies they are buying already.

WHEN DISGRACED NEW YORK TIMES REPORTER MICHAEL FINKEL MEETS ACCUSED KILLER CHRISTIAN LONGO - WHO HAS TAKEN ON FINKEL'S IDENTITY - HIS INVESTIGATION MORPHS INTO A GAME OF CAT-AND-MOUSE.

Review :
EVERYBODY DESERVES TO HAVE THEIR STORY HEARD
New York Times reporter Mike Finkel places the wrong face with a name on a lead story. He loses his job and is exiled to Montana to live with his girlfriend (Felicity Jones). As fate would have it, Christian Longo (James Franco) is accused of killing his family. He had been using Mike Finkel as his alias. He also grants an exclusive story to Finkel, desperate for work.

Based on a true story, the film looks at the psychological and personal drama as Finkel feels privileged to be in this position, but later takes a different position.

I must say the acting was superb in a film that will most likely go unnoticed. A great film for those who like dramas and true crime.
Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.

A low-key, fascinating true-crime drama with stellar performances
True Story is a restrained and slowly burning, yet very riveting meditation on the point at which crime and journalism intersect (the true-crime genre pioneered by Truman Capote with In Cold Blood) and its inherent ethical conundrums. Jonah Hill portrays Michael, an ambitious and widely admired reporter whose star rapidly fades after it is revealed he conflated and toyed with details and personalities to enhance a prestigious cover story. James Franco co-stars as Christian, an Oregon man charged with the brutal murder of his wife and three children. Upon his arrest in Mexico, Christian tells the authorities he is Michael (he later claims to be a fan), and this inexplicable decision unites the two men, both cynics and fabulists in one way or another. Christian agrees to tell his side of a tragic tale, and Michael spots a complicated and even nauseating, but viable chance to revive his career in nonfiction. Previous comic collaborators Hill and Franco are in fine dramatic form, and...
TRUE STORY was not nearly as good as it could have been and that's a real shame!
I remember when this all occurred. Christian Longo posing as a New York Times reporter living in Mexico, on the run after his wife and 3 young children had all been found murdered. I also was one of those people who read, "True Story" about the relationship of the killer and the reporter.
With that said, I was really looking forward to this movie. I thought it would be absolutely great, but it wasn't near what it could've been! James Franco did a brilliant job of portraying Longo, the selfish, narcissistic, psychopath with the material he was given. I just wish the script had been as good as the real story that was written in the book by Mike Finkel. TRUE STORY failed to deliver the 5 stars I was certain it would be, but the actors were great with what they had to work with. It's too bad because I think it could've been SO much better!

WEST SIDE STORY Impresses
Wow. What a great DVD.
The one hour documentary featuring interviews with some of the cast, Robert Wise, Harold Prince, Sondheim, and some key crew members is completely engrossing. Home movie footage showing the filming of the movie is included. Examples of the techniques that the movie makers used to film a musical are fascinating. I was amazed that the knife scene, for example, is COMPLETELY counted out and the actor/dancers' movements were choreographed down to the second (breath, two, three, four; stab, two three; look, two, three, four). Incredible! Rita Morena is particularly informative regarding the dubbing of her song "A Boy Like That". The Robbins/Wise codirecting of the film is explained. And some of Natalie Wood's original vocals are included. The documentary is invaluable for fans of the film.
As for the film itself, it looks and sounds incredible on my widescreen HDTV. The anamorphic transfer is very good.
The DVD is packaged very...
BAD BLU RAY MANUFACTURE
There are known issues on this blu ray release. The studio says it will fix the problems ONLY in future manufacturing. Don't buy this one right away. It's a great film and it's opening moments were accidentally mutilated by the blu ray mfr. I am surprised a mass distributor like Amazon is moving forward and shipping this bad pressing.

THE Musical, As It Should Be Presented
"West Side Story" is proof that the sum of its parts can not only be greater than the whole, but possibly be the greatest!

Little known writer in Elizabethian England pens a drama about two star-crossed lovers. Flash ahead to the turbulent streets of New York in the late 1950s and early 60s. Turn feuding families to rival gangs. Add music, choreography, make it vital. Then find a brilliant director who knows what to show, and watch as it takes home every Oscar it can.

We know the story of this film but what's important for you to know about here are the extras you get in this package that make it worth your while: The first disc is the film, preserved perfectly. And the second disc has your special features.

First, you get a great documentary on the making of the film. Titled "West Side Memories," Principals like Sondheim, Moreno, Chakiris, Beymer and more sit before the cameras and explain the process of preparing and executing what could be the...

Review :
Excellent value, great picture quality
For $10.00 per film you need to get this set. I find Blu-ray pricing to be a bit of a pain (on my budget that is!) But this set is priced as all Blu-rays should be. Ten bucks each! And for a great product.

The image quality is exceptional on my TV(Samsung LED). The detail and color in the films are just what you would expect from Dreamworks. Shrek never looked better. I watched the 1st Shrek movie again and was impressed. The other Shrek movies look better of course by default.

I don't need to review the films here since everyone knows you are getting three great films with one so-so film. For the price it is a must buy.

Again, I just want to vent here Studios: reduce the price of Blu-rays and we will buy more of them. The retail price on this set is $76.99 which is outrageous. Come on.

Almost But Not The Whole Story
The Shrek series is overall a fine and entertaining parody of the fairytale genre that cemented Dreamworks' status as the only serious contender to Pixar's reign as the kings of computer animation. I for one think that Dreamworks features for the most part are funnier. The first two features never before released on Blu-ray are a defininate upgrade over DVD. The third entry was a little weak as far as story goes but Forever After was a fine and fitting finale to the series to end on a high note.
However this otherwise great value priced box set is missing one near essential part of the story. Where is the 2008 Christmas special Shrek the Halls? The feature was only 22 minutes long. Why couldn't it have been included as a special feature?Paramount deducted it from the whole story therefore I am deducting one star.

I was very disappointed in
This is the uk version and was not listed that way. There are different scenes that weren't in the us versions. Also some of the characters voices are different. They are uk actors instead.

I was very disappointed in this

Be sure to include the "commercials"
When you start to play your Toy Story of TERROR! disc, be sure to choose to watch it with the commercials. You’ll be glad you did. This was an ABC TV special last year—the first Pixar TV special ever—and it was constructed to break for commercials. So for the Blu-ray, Pixar included the ones they created especially for the show.

Sure, this is a great for Halloween watching, complete with a cheesy black-and-white Saturday drive-in style movie (love that puff of smoke!), but it’s also year round fun for Toy Story fans, as it could be thought of as an unofficial “sequel" to Toy Story. Many of the characters introduced in that film are here again, and they get more screen time, like Mr. Pricklepants, the self-appointed movie expert (you can almost see Marshall McLuhan making a cameo to contradict him, á la Annie Hall).

The 22 minutes focus mostly on Jessie, which is welcome. She’s a character with a lot of layers and...
it's a fun collection for true Toy Story fans
The Toy Story of Terror short film has a runtime of approximately 21+ minutes. It's a quality production with an interesting Halloween-time story, focusing on Jessie and the gang's unplanned stay at a roadside motel. The original "commercials" that aired with Toy Story of Terror are featured at the end of the film, spoofs of Combat Carl as a GI Joe style infomercial, a short on the Old Timer clock, and finally the "Transitron" transformer-style robot in a Japanese-style commercial. Each commercial has a runtime of about 60 seconds. Overall, it's a fun collection for true Toy Story fans.

As a bonus, three Toy Story Toons are included, Hawaiian Vacation (6 min.), Small Fry (8 min.), and Partysaurus Rex (7 min.). These are great shorts and add some value to the purchase if you do not already have them.

Finally, included is a behind the scenes feature with the director giving a look at the day-to-day work to make a Toy Story short.

It's scary, but that's okay...
Some of my best childhood memories, and favorite stories to tell while reminiscing with family members during get-togethers, are those times when a movie or TV show scared the daylights out of me. My poor Mom took me and my sister to see "Psycho" during it's initial run in theaters in 1960, I believe. I was 6 years old at the time and loved "monster" movies, and "scary" movies. She, and my sister and I, had no idea what we were in for. The original "Night of the Living Dead" was a grim, gut-wrenching hour and a half that left me and the rest of the Saturday afternoon matinee kids shell-shocked when I was about 13 or 14 years old.

I watched "Toy Story of Terror" during its run on the Disney Channel during the Halloween season with my grownup children, and with a 5- and 8-year old brother and sister foster kids. Needless to say, we all loved it, and the little ones wanted to watch it each time it was broadcast. Sure it was scary, but in...
